Services
In our old location (which was next door to our sister company Urban Body Studios) we grew into a full-fledged neighborhood fitness center. In December of 2010 we moved to our current location at Amsterdam Walk in Midtown. We now have over 14,000 square feet with weights, cardio equipment, spin classes and group-X classes.

Ok, after reading some old (negative) reviews I'm shocked. I'm a fitness nut and I absolutely love this place and the staff . This gym is the best and the owner is incredible. If you know how to work out, come here! If you don't know how to work out- see one of the amazing trainers: I recommend Myrie! But seriously, unless you want a class atmosphere, this place rocks!

I really like going to UBF. I've been a member for about a year, there's a good variety of equipment and it's in a good location with easy to find parking. Most members are respectful of putting weights away, minding their space, not being obnoxious, etc.
Since they reopened after the pandemic, I find the mask mandate and cleaning protocols very effective and I feel safe working out here. Capacity is limited, everyone is given a large spray bottle to clean equipment before and after use. If you need a mask break, you can step outside to the back to get some fresh air.

I also used to like this place. Sadly no more. I recently encountered several professional trainers working here with their clients attempting to give their clients/members weight equipment and machine priority over members who don't employ them. I was repeatedly refused to be allowed to "work in". When I complained to the front desk, the staff always said that it was against their policy for anyone to give/imply equipment priority for any reason. However, nothing seemed to be done to correct the situation. This happened to me too many times.

As I slowly progress to one day looking like the Asian version of Michael B. Jordan in Black Panther (Golden Phoenix?), I def need to give Urban Body Fitness a lot of love, for being my iron paradise and escape.
A couple of years ago I dropped 50 lbs in five months, and I hit up this gym more times than Blondie works at Clermont Lounge. I chose this local, small chain over LA Fitness, Orange Theory, etc... because of the small feel. (That's what she said.) About the gym itself, though...
*****
I. COST: For a typical gym membership, it's $59.99 a month. That also includes a few classes

Save your money and go to a decent gym elsewhere. The owner is unprofessional and petty. Terrible customer service. The worst we have experienced in a VERY long time. And we have regrettably flown Spirit and have Comcast. If that doesn't tell you to steer clear of this place not sure what will. In addition you'll find better equipment at most other gyms in the area. This place is a joke.

I can not tell you how much I love this gym! I'm an avid gym goer, and am usually picky about my gyms. They have to have a big free weight area, machines, cardio equipment, and functional training equipment. This gym checks all the boxes! New, clean equipment, room to perform an exercise, and many different options of machine (plate loaded and non). I can also rave about the staff! I currently live in NC, but hurricane Florence had me evacuated to my dads house who lives in VH. The manager gave me a great deal for a two week gym pass! Will be returning every time I visit.

I used to love this place, but I will not ever be back. I signed up for a month membership recently but the contract was explained poorly to me by the representative at the front desk. I was charged more than I should have been. After much back and forth with Bryan Stanfield, he finally agreed to give me a partial refund after I emailed the owner Rad Slough. I still have not seen my refund. This was weeks ago. The quality in customer service is usually so great which is why I am so surprised at this lack of care. This establishment does not care about their customers, they only care about making

It's a great location and space with windows that allow beautiful natural lighting. However the Cybex machines are 15 years old at least. My old gym had brand new Cybex machines and they make a world of difference. They also have one very small room for group classes. If all you need is a decent cardio machine and free weights- this is your place. I'm not impressed otherwise.

Best gym in the area. I just moved here from San Diego and have been trying all the local gyms. Urban exceeds them in every way. Towel service, free locks and lockers, every free weight and machine setup imaginable, super kind and non-pushy staff, and a lot of dedicated, motivated members to keep you going hard. One week free trial, so check it out!

UBF is the best gym I have experienced. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are up beat like they enjoy being there. The gym is clean and the locker rooms are very nice. I hit the gym before work and I use their complementary body wash, shampoo and mouthwash.
It costs a little more than other gyms, but it is worth it. The people who go to UBF are all friendly and polite. You can look around at your UBF peers and feel good about yourself being in their company.
The Machines are well taken care off, the weights are always in order. There are tons of cardio machines.

So I've decided to write an update here for UBF. The place still has a wonderful staff and facilities, but the horrible WiFi here has yet to improve and might even be worse than it was last year. If there are more than 5 ppl at the gym you can expect 56k dial-up speeds and streaming music or video is nearly impossible. I had to use LTE to write this update from the gym because I couldn't even pull up Yelp on WiFi. I love this place, but the internet has become inexcusable for such a modern gym.

Lived in Atlanta for over a year now and I find this gym absolutely amazing. I moved from Nashville and was a member of Gold's gym for 6 years, the whole time I lived there. Here's the pros and cons of this gym:
Pro's
Very clean and well maintained
Friendly staff and eager to help
Very modern and updated gym (they have special mini lockers to lock your phone up to charge while you work out which I've never seen at another gym)
Lots of cardio and free weight equipment
Great sound system set up and TV's along the lines of the cardio equipment
Great location, Piedmont

Urban body is a very nice fitness studio: very clean friendly helpful staff with good equipment and a nice variety of challenging classes. But I wish they had more space to stretch and do some floor mat exercises on your own because it is a very small space where you can do this. The classes are really up to your personal taste as some are very difficult (depending on your fitness level of course) but I have found the instructors to always be helpful and patient especially if you are trying a class for the first time.
One thing I did not like today, was to walk into the fitness studio to a table

I recently signed up for a membership with Urban Body Studios for the Pilates classes and with it comes a "free" membership to the gym at Urban Body Fitness. I finally made it to the gym this morning to check it out and was appalled at how DIRTY this place was. It was especially disappointing since I read how amazing and clean it was on their website. The shelf/towel holder - yes, the towel holder - next to the stair master was covered in dust. I swear one of those dust bunnies is a fire hazard. All cardio equipment was filthy and covered in dry salt sweat stains - it was like they&apos

I checked out Urban Body Fitness after reading Lauren S' review. The location is very convenient on my drive to work, and thought it may be a good fit.
For me, it's not the right place. The whole place has a loft/warehouse feel, which would have been fine, but they went a little far with the dim lighting and yellow-toned walls and columns. I mostly did cardio when I came early (~6am) in the mornings and each time felt like I was running on a treadmill in my parent's unfinished basement.
The treadmills are especially popular and while I never had trouble finding one, others did
