Aby's Restaurant opened its doors back in May of 2002 as a pizza place in the center of Matawan. During our first years, we started to introduce some of our traditional Mexican dishes to our customers. Not only we received support from our customers, but we also better identified with our roots, traditions, and culture.
Large corn tortilla chips topped with beans, cheese, pico de gallo, black olives, guacamole, sour cream, and your choice of meat or mixed veggies. Grilled mexican sausage served on a hot iron skillet over a bed of grilled pepper, onions, and melted cheese. Flour tortilla folded over, filled with cheese and stuffed with your choice of meat, mixed veggies or only cheese.

Ordered two tacos and chicken quesadilla through grubhub. That came out to $50 after all the fees and tip. The food was the most tasteless and under seasoned food I've ever had from a restaurant. I don't know how this place has such a high rating. I would never order from them again. I can make better food at home.

Let me start off by advising anyone who wants to make a reservation with this restaurant not to do it online. I used the reservations link on their website, successfully sent them a reservation request for a Saturday evening, and when we got there my name was not in their system. I do hope that someone from the restaurant is reading this and will take note that the webpage reservation link does not work. Do yourself a favor and call them directly to make your reservations.

We were in the area shopping for a front door. Decided to check what’s around for a quick sit down dinner. Aby’s came up. We love authentic Mexican cuisine. Well no wait, food came quickly. Super fresh. I always go with the old stand by of Fajitas. Well the hot plate came and it wasn’t the old stand by. Great flavor. Tasty 😋 Never had Fajitas so rich with flavor. Definitely will be back. And goes with out saying I definitely RECOMMEND YOU VISIT

Food is pretty good, always consistent. The restaurant is very nice and it’s a great location. The staff is ALWAYS very friendly and the atmosphere is nice. It seems like they are really good with larger parties as well. The rice is delicious and always my favorite part of the meal. The only issue is that it’s on the pricey side, however, they frequently send coupons in the mail which is a nice gesture. Overall, would recommend if you’re in the mood for Mexican food.
