Acquired by Marv and Connie Sorby in 1974, "Trig's" was a popular 3.2 bar that had been a staple in Duluth's central hillside for many years. Due to the owner's illness, the bar had been closed for a short time. Being good friends of Trig, the Sorby's bought the establishment and began their first day with one keg of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer- literally.
After buying a liquor license in 1979 and subsequent a "name the bar" contest, "Trig's" became "The Round-Up Bar and Grill". In 1999, Connie's son Mike Ronning bought the bar, and he has owned and managed it since then. Over these 46 years, the Round-Up has earned a reputation for fine food, garnering special praise for its burgers and breakfasts.

Wow,.........WOW, wow, Duluth really is the most Fd up, sick, >DECEPTIVE< tourist country deathtrap in America. It's amazing how nice and normal this town can seem(e.g. when I first moved here many different types of people told me"You already know not to trust people, right?") I could go on and on with horror stories, tons of hard facts, and hard statistics, but if you don't have the clue by now you deserve whatever happens to you.

I was here with friends for breakfast, but they no longer do breakfast. One of the people in my party was asked to leave for saying the f word because it was a "family restaurant". It's a bar and grill, by it's own admission, not a restaurant. Anyway, do yourself a favor and find another spot, the food and drinks will be much better.

This is the perfect spot for diner style quality food for the price of a local watering hole.
The staff is kind and welcoming, without being fake or overbearing.
They have everything from steak and eggs for breakfast to fish and chips for dinner.
I ordered the house salad and it was huge and freshly chopped to order. I also got the fish and the tarter was perfect.
The drinks were not weak, and they made well.
When things get back to normal, they have a great kareoke night on the weekend.
They also had fx on durring lunch so I could watch a movie while I ate.
