Becky Tainter, the founder and owner of Powerlady Fitness, worked for 7 years at a chain gym as a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She had the opportunity to buy the gym in 2003. Inspired by the positive power to help women reach their fitness goals, she saw that the commercial gyms simply weren't meeting member needs and preferences when it came to their workouts.
Jane and Ashley were interns at the CDC for the summer and joined Powerlady Fitness during their time in Atlanta. Read their experience below. How has PLF helped you achieve your goals? Ashley: PLF has made going to the gym so much fun! I have been wanting to get stronger, and through PLF, I have definitely been able to do that.
Powerlady is a safe place. The training area and equipment are cleaned after use. The fitness classes practice social distancing and mask wearing. And during training sessions, personal trainers follow mask wearing and cleaning protocols. Our Hvac also cleanses the air frequently. Members need to sign up for an open gym time slot.
At Powerlady Fitness we understand that going to the gym for the first time can be intimidating. Here are a few things that will help to make your first time coming in not be so scary or stressful!. If you aren't a member and trying a class for the first time try to come 10 minutes early so we can get you signed in and situated.
We base our holiday hours on attendance from previous years and on who is in town staff wise. We always change the voice mail the week of a holiday, post it on the door, and have it posted on our calendar. They told me I was only signing up for a certain period, but before I knew it I had committed to 5 years!

I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience at Powerlady Fitness. I was returning to fitness and I was feeling self conscious. I was warmly welcomed by Becky, the fitness class instructors, and the other individuals attending the classes. There is a wonderful sense of community and friendship at Powerlady Fitness. Any level of fitness, age, body type, unique needs are welcome and celebrated. A wonderful place to explore your fitness comfortably and enthusiastically.

Powerlady Fitness is an excellent fitness facility specifically for women. I have been a member of Powerlady Fitness for several years. The owner of Powerlady works with me as personal trainer twice a week. Powerlady FitnessI has equipment that most would look for along with classes and personal trainer if desired. All covid precautions are taken to make certain members and visitors are protected. Masks are required. Machines and equipment are cleaned before and after use. Spacing and numbers allowed inside are followed. I strongly recommend Powerlady Fitness! In a time when strength and health

If you are looking for a gym with a personal touch, sense of community, and friendly work-out women, Powerlady Fitness is for you. It is a special place -- a non-competitive, no-frills gym that offers weight machines, treadmills, free weights, and a variety of classes that often feel like personal training. The owner, Becky, takes great care to get to know all members. The front desk staff greet you by name -- and say goodbye when you leave. This is a place where you feel like you matter -- and you do. You become a member who is important to others. When you attend regularly, your absence

It bothers me to no end that someone would take the time and lambast a legit great business such as Power Lady. I know the owner and her associates that run the gym. It's a great place to work out for all ladies without ANY INTIMIDATION. They got great weight machines, treadmills and cycling as well as other items for a good work out. They also have all kinds of classes that ANYONE can come to. So come and check it out!

Sent email requesting information on their own "contact" link. They can't be bothered to answer. I can't be bothered to do business with anyone this inattentive. Too much competition out there. Sent email to three of their competitors. Received answers from all three within 3-8 hours after sending. I'll go with those who have an interest in doing business with me.

Powerlady Fitness has got to be the best women's gym in Atlanta!!! I worked out there for 8 years before having to relocate and I have not found a place with such a good vibe as well as good classes, well trained instructors, and good childcare as well as personal trainers!!! All at a great value for all that you get from the gym!!

I went to this gym on a one-month pass. It was pretty good, and definitely not what I expected. The lady named Mary who works at the front desk was super nice and welcoming and she even remembered my name after my first visit!
I am mainly interested in group classes in the evening. I did Zumba with two different instructors (the one on Wednesday night was fantastic! The Saturday morning one was a bit harder choreography!).
The Cardio Burn class was very intense! It was sort of an aerobics-meets-step-aerobics class. I felt like I worked EXTREMELY hard in this class. It was great!

I have gone to this gym for a number of years. It is not a corporate gym, but rather a warm, friendly and inviting women's gym. A place that you want to go to. The owner is very hands on and takes a real interest in her members and is always trying to improve the place. The members are of all different ages and sizes. Though it isn't a big gym I never have to wait for cardio machines or any other machines or weights. The gym offers many different classes and the instructors seem very good. Just a good place to work out.

I have been a member of LWE for almost two years and I love it. This gym is a special community- supportive, encouraging, and not competitive. There are members of all shapes, sizes, and ages so it is easy to be comfortable here. The owner knows her clients and checks up frequently. You can tell she really cares about helping people get healthy. She notices when you come to a new class, change up your routine, or loose weight/inches.
There is a great variety of class- over the summer I actually tried all of them. My favorites are Thursday morning spin and Wednesday morning Cardio and Condition

So the best workout is a workout you actually do and because of LWE, I'm actually happy to workout every day. I got a Groupon for a 20-class pass and have used 11 so far; I have tried kick, punch and crunch, zumba, sculpt, and yoga flow, and I have been loving it! I love getting online deals, but often have trouble finishing them in time, but that hasn't been the case for LWE. They offer a variety of classes at all different times, so that it doesn't get boring and is convenient. I wasn't sure I would like an only-women gym, but that has actually been one of my favorite parts

I like working out with guys around, but this all women's gym is a special place. I've only taken yoga classes here with Tre and Paula, and the welcoming, noncompetitive vibe is one of acceptance for women of all ages and body types. The yoga classes really help me relax, and the teachers emphasize mindfulness and calm instead of fitness-yoga. Alison's yoga class on Tuesdays is very relaxing.

This is a solid, no frills, women only gym. if you want bells and whistles, there's an annoying big chain gym not too far away that will charge u an arm and a leg for a smoothie (conveniently located in front of the ellipticals. thanks a lot, enablers.) and consistently push you to sign up for expensive personal training sessions.
LWE upgraded their weight machines n done some renovation work. the gym also offers optional monthly extra monthly challenges (to people who need seasonal motivation to get ready for swimsuits, eat better, ramp up cardio for summer activities, etc.) additionally
