I was in Philly for a few days and tried out this gym and was very pleased! Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Hours for the gym are really nice.
The facility is huge and has a bunch of quality, up to date equipment. They have a queenax, turfed area, two Olympic lifting platforms and a nice mix of dumbbells and machines.
The only thing they could have more of are squat racks. They only have a few of those.
Overall, recommend for anyone looking to get a good workout in.

The staff is so helpful and kind. I was a bit nervous about returning and they made me feel left I never left. It's always clean and using the app you can tell how crowded it is.

I just want to say CF has really done an amazing job of addressing all my concerns! CF is the best gym in Philadelphia by far! Richard the manager here is particularly helpful. And they have really done covid right! Vaccines required for entry. No mask required. Thank you!

This is by far the worst retail gym in the city with the most antiquated membership system. Especially given COVID times, they unfroze peoples' accounts without any notification. They then started charging bank accounts and credit cards. If you attempt to cancel, they will then hire their ABCFitness partners to relentlessly call you to pay for services you don't even use, and to threaten collection agencies. This is not about money. This is about principle.

When I explained to them that my partner and I no longer even live in the city and one of us has an autoimmune disease that would

Great gym. Clean with lots of equipment that you expect and some you don’t. Two Olympic power lifting platforms and lots of other quick squat racks. Cool stretching area. Good selection of food and drinks. Great place!

Very high quality facility, very clean and lots of space. Has all the equipment you need and more. Definitely pricey, but you get what you pay for. Smoothie bar is great for after a workout!

Signed up for the membership, never once stepped foot in the gym, tried to cancel by chatting with Brandon I believe and they apparently cant cancel for me? What is this 2005? They obviously try to make as many hoops as possible for customers to cancel, pretty sketchy. Retro Fitness was super easy to cancel, they also use ABC Fitness, but had no issue manually canceling over the phone, one click of a button and BOOM canceled, City Fitness should take notes on this revolutionary cancellation technology. They should be able to easily afford it with the ~$450 I paid them in just 2 and a half months

This gym would be fine if it wasn't so hot and stuffy. It's uncomfortable year round. In the summer months, they cheap out on AC, keeping the temperature at an incredibly stuffy 75 degrees. It feels like a restaurant you can't wait to leave.

City Fitness East Market has done an incredible job keeping the gym sanitized and safe during the pandemic. Everyone is very diligent about wearing masks and the equipment is wiped down by both members and gym staff very regularly. Guests are respectful of the dedicated timeslots and City Fitness has made it really easy to schedule your session on the app. It's great to feel so comfortable and confident working out at the gym even during a pandemic. And it's definitely one of Philly's best gyms in general -- very well-kept equipment, friendly people, a beautiful open volume of space to work out

City Fitness has done a great job with Covid precautions and social distancing. I originally joined 2019 and froze my account during quarantine since I was no longer commuting into center city daily. Last month, I moved closer and decided to unfreeze my membership (and I'm so glad I did!).

The reason why I initially joined was that I had heard great things about their group fitness classes. I loved the popular cycling studios in the city but I couldn't justify paying $35 for a class when I could pay $80/month to go to unlimited classes with awesome instructors. There are three different

Super clean. Sign up slots aren't the MOST convenient but I think most of us make do. Plenty of floorspace, super easy to keep a distance from others. Definitely more expensive than other options, but worth it if you're into the whole community I guess, I just want to use the sauna (RIP). Could use another power rack or two.

I used to go weekly for a couple of classes but froze my membership because of COVID. They unfroze it and started charging me and probably hundreds of others of people when the supposed frieze period ended knowing full well most of the unfrozen members would not be returning to the gym. What a greedy business. I called and they said I can re freeze it or cancel it but they need a months notice. So 2 months of $$ for not being able to use a gym that used to be 2 blocks away from the office! But is now an hour+ away?! And you want me back when I come back to the office? No thanks I'd rather

I go regularly to the Graduate Hospital franchise. It is close to my house. I have participated in the Thrive program for over a year now and love it! While it is not the least expensive options, it is one of the best!! My trainers, Lauren and Steve, are two of their premier trainers. I am so hapPy with their caring and challenging approach to our training. While I am an older client, the trainers are very cognizant of your limitations. This is also true for the 20 something members of my group. In over a year training, I have never had to stop due to injury or over use.

At the beginning of this year and all throughout 2018 I would have given this gym 5 stars.

The stars are falling because the value for money I was getting before is declining swiftly as maintenance issues pile up. As with every gym in this city, they refuse to fix things, in this case specifically the sauna and a lot of electrical problems. They say they'll do things but they don't.

The gym staff is nice, the place is clean, and it's a convenient location for me, but otherwise without the sauna which is half my health routine, the price, with all its perks, is not worth it. I

I've been coming here since 2013 and I continue to come here because of the awesome instructors!

I love spinning with Angelique, Lily and Steve! They play great music that keeps you motivated and have such fun choreography. You can see their passion and they r always coming up w great playlists. Love their personalities!

Love pumping with Kelly, Abigail, Stephanie and Yin Le! They always do the latest releases and use a good combo of recent releases! They are so much fun and help motivate you to lift heavy and keep going!

I honestly wouldn't come here if it wasn't for these great

What an awesome gym!!! My office tied up with city fitness so we get 1 month free membership at city fitness. I attended the spin class that was held specifically for my office people.

I got a tour of the facility. They have everything - from rooms for spin, yoga, barre to space for your own workout, treadmills, to space for personal training! Lockers, sauna, showers, restrooms of course! To even hydro Massage beds!!!!! Omg!!!! I want to try one of those ASAP!

It's a huge, clean, awesome space newly opened. I'm dying to go back here soon.

This gym is amazing. Everything about it, I am hooked. For me location is key or I will never go to the gym. I work 1,000,000 hours a week and never have time to work out. So this gym is two blocks from my office and two blocks from my apartment which makes it impossible for me to have excuses not to go. But the biggest reason why I love this gym is the massive amount of group fitness classes.

Classes are my favorite part of working out, and usually the only reason why I show up to the gym! City Fitness Logan Square has 2 group fitness rooms, 1 yoga room, 1 spin room, and 1 We/Fit room. So, there

This gym has everything you could ever want/need. If you're into classes, they have a variety of them, not to mention a pretty amazing spinning room, which puts Flywheel's to shame. There are treadmills for days if you're into that cardio life.

The real draw for me is the Olympic weightlifting area. I love that the squat racks are usually free and people actually rack their weights. They have bumper plates, which make deadlifting and power cleaning easier than having to use the bulky, compact plates that most gyms have.

I do wish they had a deadlift platform and that chalk was

I am currently on a year-long membership, and I honestly like the classes - the instructors are great. The personal trainers are hit or miss. You'll either end up with someone who understands your personal goals/needs, or someone who enjoys pressing your buttons unnecessarily.

My problem lies with their customer service. For a gym that tries to be one of the best in the city, these people can honestly do a lot better. There are maybe 3-4 people who know what's going on, and the rest are clueless. I recently called about a billing question (I just wanted to know what I paid for

I'm obsessed with this facility. It's big, beautiful and functional in every way. We are currently in the trial month prior to the gym's grand opening so some things are still under construction, but nothing that impacts the fitness areas.

It has floor to ceiling windows in every classroom (minus the spin room) which makes for a beautiful early morning workout. So far, I have experienced Zumba, Barre, Body pump, Spin, and Pilates. All the instructors are great and I'm hopeful there will be even more classes added to the schedule after the grand opening.

I need to start this by say: I hope this gym doesn't go out of business. I truly hope they succeed. A gym is a place people go to get healthy, push themselves, free their mind, and types of positive outcomes. I'm always going to be rooting for the owners here!!

Alright guys, grab a drink, sit back, and get ready. It's about to get real, real quick:

I had a very unfortunate experience here. I'm only in the neighborhood for a week, so I was hoping there would be a free trial, or a cheaper deal than 20 dollars a session. I just wanted to keep my routine while I'm here for

Having had several memberships with other facilities both in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, City Fitness has by far been the best gym I've joined in the last eight years. (So much so I stopped going to my university gym even though it was state-of-the-art and free).

I joined after doing a THRIVE session for free with a friend who is also a member at a different base location (South St.). Luckily for me this location is walking distance from home and therefore convenient in any weather.

I've been a member for a year now and the club always has plenty of membership appreciation events

Never had such a terrible gym experience in my life! The gym is average at best, equipment is a down grade and once again I had random charges on my bill which took an hour to fix with my bank. When I contacted the gym to have this issue rectified, I was told that I would have to wait to be reimbursed or I could just cancel my membership.

I recently bought the MetaBody Yoga & Fitness Pass through Groupon which brought me to City Fitness, as it entitled me to 10 spin classes.

If you ever buy this pass, be forewarned that you cannot book these CityFitness classes directly through the MetaBody website as you would with most of the classes. CityFitness sets you up with a one month trial membership. This is awesome because it's not just limited to the spin classes offered on the pass, and you can utilize the gym for any of the services available to a trial membership.

My experience with the trial membership was fairly frustrating
