COMPLETE is your fitness sanctuary, located in the heart of Union Square. It is a place where you can hide from the bustling life of New York City to restore the balance between your physical and mental health. Since the two are dependent on each other, we offer programs strategically designed to blend them flawlessly.
Our 19th St Chelsea location is truly the last authentic bodybuilding gym you'll find in Manhattan. It has the raw, old-school look and feel you would expect to find in an 80's garage gym. It is filled with traditional and retro style equipment you won't find anywhere else in the city, which we worked tirelessly to keep in good shape.
It was originally built for Goldman Sachs with amenities that include a My Ride designed Spin studio, a three-story rock-climbing wall plus an expanded sauna, and steam room. When CompleteBody took over the gym, they aimed to exceed expectations by offering world-class personal trainers to help you achieve your workout goals and CBXT program signature HIIT classes for a total body workout experience.
CompleteBody 57th is conveniently laid out on one level so there is a seamless transition through your workout. You can start your workout with one of our Elite personal trainers, then finish with a dip in our salt water pool. Our gym is equipped with a physical therapy center as well, so you can completely take care of all your physical needs in one place.

I can't speak to the quality of the classes, pool, or machines, as I only went to this gym for a tour, but here are my thoughts.
Pros:
Quiet gym, doesn't seem to get too crowded per what one of the employees Jennique told me
Sauna, saltwater pool, roofdeck, spa (unsure if active due to Covid)
Outdoor and indoor spin studios
Excluding the sale ending tomorrow, membership is like $115 a year, not including the annual fee and enrollment fee, which I think is pretty fair considering the amenities
Friendly employees and gym goers from what I saw
Cons:
A lot of older people (only a con

A clean space with plenty of room and machines so you’re never waiting to get your sets in. Everyone at CompleteBody Midtown East is super friendly and goes out of their way to make sure your experience is a pleasant one. Only complaint is that classes are offered at inconvenient times but hoping that changes as restrictions lighten!

I absolutely love this gym. I have been training my clients here for almost a year now and the space is always clean and inviting. The staff are extremely friendly and my clients feel extremely safe and supported in the space. The equipment is a cross between old school and new machines which is perfect for my style of training. Highly recommend!

Before signing up, I received a call from Ethan answering my questions and a complimentary fitness assessment from a trainer named Kirk! He gave me great fitness advice, perfected my form, and told me the exercises I should focus on. I also like that he asked me my fitness goals before starting so I felt that he really tailored the exercises to my specific goals (I had doubts about my push ups). I also liked that there was zero pressure to sign up.
I signed up today and so far, I can say this place is very clean and they have a pool! It's not crazy busy which is nice. They have a cardio

Completebody midtown location is the best of all their clubs in Manhattan. As many people know adequate space is a commodity in NYC. This midtown location has a nice spacious layout that separates the cardio section from the weight training . Although a little outdated, the decor is on the upscale parallel. You’ll find a decent size studio and cardio machines on one side of the gym floor along with a heated indoor pool with plenty of sunlight an a outdoor patio attached just outside the pool deck.
The other half of the gym you will find plenty of free weights, fixed and cables machines , Pilates

With limited swimming options during the pandemic, I joined Complete Body and Spa at the 57th St location primarily for the pool. Though the lanes are shorter than what I am used to, I enjoy the pool facility a lot. It is salt water and heated. Also you can enjoy a nice view while swimming backstroke. However what struck me the most is the friendliness of the staff. It makes my mornings. They know your name and they are just so warm and friendly that you feel like part of a family.

I chose this gym specifically for its particular amenities that other local gyms don’t have. These include a pool, outdoor deck, and small sauna.
The sun deck is great for tanning & yoga in the summer. I also love that they often crack the windows in the main weight room so fresh air flows in. Other local gyms have have stale air that wreaks of body odor.

This gym has not changed too much in the past 15 years....... most of the staff is nice but they are over worked especially the women's locker room staff-over worked and under appreciated; water collects on sinks due to lack of repairs, shower hoses are lose and fall on you, mold collects, locker room is depressing and updates are definitely needed, (lockers that are dirty, tiles chipped and dirty throughout the whole gym, small body towels with holes, no bathing suit ringer.....
Classes are also a major issue-not enough and given at the same time and the 1 room they have needs cleaning

Very nice gym. Was visiting NYC and found this gym close to where I was staying. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very good assortment of cardio and strength equipment. Very nice pool and aerobic studios. While I didn't use a personal trainer, I observed several and they were doing a great job with their clients. I was able to get great workouts here and the locker rooms/showers were nice and clean. Highly recommend and would go there again.

This is one of my favorite gyms in NY, I believe they even have a rock climbing wall in another facility. Usually when I go to gyms I feel awkward bc I'm not as fit as others, I get on the machine wrong, or I just make the situation weird.
I met Aaron, a life guard, upon walking in and let me say he is the definition of CUSTOMER SERVICE and HOSPITALITY. He was very welcoming, showing me around the gym, informing me about the proper foods and which protein shakes I should be drinks based on the body I want. I really appreciated the help and now I actually look forward to the gym.

I have been a member for over 10 years and this could be a 5*+ fitness center if the people on staff really wanted to please their members as they're nice and courteous but it's just not enough ...... updates needed all over club including chipped tiles throughout, especially in dingy locker room with several missing but most of all more classes are needed throughout the day!!! How can a gym survive on 3 classes in the morning which stop by 12 and don't resume until 5 or 5???? How about the pool roof working as well as the outside deck being completely accessible???? As much

This location needs a facelift, it's an expensive membership and it's great they have a pool but it feels like you're paying equinox money for a rec center with a name stamped to it, there's medicine balls and bands that are shedding the rubber and paint and the weight room feels like a hotel gym, I like that it's quiet but the equipment needs to be updated.

Oh man. As previous reviews mentioned, this place is outdated. The facilities look like back in the early 2000's and the receptionist got an attitude.
After inquiring about the guest pass online, I spoke with someone over the phone whom I forgot her name and she said I could come in for one day guest pass to try out the classes and facilities. Over the phone,
She emphasize over and over again that this place is for people who want the quiet and undisturbing environment and no need to wait for the equipments ( it is completely not true. When I checked this place out this morning, the bathroom

I came by for a free 1 day pass & I was really surprised by the facility when compared to the yelp reviews & the pics. It is very very outdated & dingy. The outdoor area is the best part by far. It was allllllll people above 55 & a few body builders but they stayed in the weight room. I will say the staff was very nice! One of the trainers (or maybe just a body builder) was really funny & nice as I was checking in.
They didn't have the small towels to wipe down the machines or keep with you for sweating so you had to carry around a full sized towel. The gym has different

From the moment I signed up with the membership advisor Barbara, this place has been nothing but just a great experience in the busy hustle bustle of Manhattan living. Okay, yes to be honest you are going to paying - this is not cheap but we have to understand this is Manhattan, and honest this place is worth every single dime I pay each month never a complaint about it.
It is always clean - super professional, congenial staff each one nicer than the next - gym changing rooms and bathrooms that are spotless - always cleaning liquid on hand so you can wipe off your machines after you use them.

Found this gem via fitdaypass.com
NOTE: I have a regular membership to a gym, but when I travel for work I use fitdaypass.com for pay per visit deals.
Back to COMPLETEBODY:
The people/staff are REAL.
From management, trainers, and cleaning staff - everyone is courteous and friendly.
Re equipment, everything you need:
You want to do compound exercises: free weights, no problem.
Cardio? An entire separate section dedicated to the latest equipment.
Swim? Pool (although not the 25 meter I hope for, but all good).
Spa? YUP.
Locker Room: Always Clean
Towels: provided.
Coffee: FREE.
I can go

I signed up for their Complete Body Blast on a whim through ClassPass, and I'm so glad I did. The hour long class was tough, but doable. I liked the instructors energy (and the fact that he sang along with most of the songs), the music he choose, the variety of exercises we did, and his corrections for everyone in the class. It's definitely a class where you can go at your own pace and choose how hard you want to work.
Though the locker rooms and bathrooms were a bit dated looking, I appreciated that the gym wasn't below ground like so many other gyms in the city. I'll definitely

Avoid at all costs of you don't want to get stuck with unfair contracts. They will keep charging you senselessly. It has happened to me twice. Both times I fulfilled my year long contract and had valid reasons to quit since I moved and the gym was out of my way. I tried to make it work, but it was just too far. I did not use the gym a single time in the last four months before I quit. I asked them to not charge me any further specially since I had fulfilled my contract and had been a loyal customer for almost three years. However, that request did nothing and they still charged my card. Needless

Great people but the facilities need a make-over. The biggest draw for this location is the pool above ground and with a sunroof (see pictures). However, the sunroof should probably be cleaned. In addition, I am pretty sure this is not a salt water pool (see other reviews). After speaking with a staff member, I learned that the heater for the pool had broken down during the winter and took a while to fix. Having a heater break down is one thing, but not fixing it promptly is another thing. In addition, the locker rooms and showers need an update. There was rust in some of the showers and

This is such a great space to work out at. Not your typical Equinox though so many great features; a rooftop salt water pool, great stretching area, cardio machines that are always available, and the best part, a rooftop patio to lounge after your workout.
The staff are all so great as well and I highly reccomend this gym if you're looking!

DO NOT COME HERE! this gym is a total geriatric ward. took a class here off classpass which was taught by and geared toward the 70 year old women in class - not really what i expected when i signed up for an "intense cardio and barre" class. the locker room and facilities are out of 1985 and completely FILTHY. on top of that one of the cleaning staff YELLED at me for moving a hairdryer so i could plug in my straightener. the only redeeming quality was the sun deck!

Just started a membership at this gym and already loving everything about it!
I come all the way to this gym from The Bronx. So that right there should tell ya something!! LOL
Ive been to Planet Fitness, Lucielle Roberts, Blink fitness and NYSC and this gym tops them all no questions asked!
First of all it is very private. Any time of the day you go it is either empty or a few people so you have the whole gym to yourself.
Secondly, it has so many amenities. A pool, Sauna, Showers, Plenty of cardio machines and lifting machines, Towels, a Roof top deck, CLASSES! etc!
Thirdly, everyone who goes here
