At THIS bootcamp, you sign up for a month, a year, or, in my case, over a decade. But sometimes life intervenes and you take a week off here, a few months there, sometimes half-a-year. But, when you finally return, it's like you never left. Everyone greets you with smile or a hug. "Glad to have you back". "How's life going?" "See you on Wednesday?" This isn't LAlish. They really mean it. They make you feel part of something bigger than yourself. It's so much better than staring in the mirror of the gym, feeling invisible, listening to the

This is the only workout I've been able to stick with consistently!!! Previously, I have fallen off the workout wagon because the trainers or workout classes become boring or simply not enjoyable. That's why I'm so happy to of found this boot camp. Finally, I have a workout environment that I look forward to doing! The trainers (Jay and Marcella) make you feel supported because they don't let you fall off the wagon. They are personable, funny yet very motivating! It's a blast to knockout my workout with a fun group of people outdoors....especially in LA. . I would highly recommend BootCamp LA to

I really like this outdoor training program. Jay and Marcella really know what they're doing. I'm sure that's why most of the people that go here have been going here for 10 or 15 years. They taught me a lot about nutrition and form and I have learned so much. I can't believe I used to work out indoors and now I'm outside at the nicest park in Los Angeles. The best thing about this program is they have a huge free parking lot you pull right in and there's like a hundred spaces to park in. Which is very rare in Los Angeles.

I was a little intimidated by the name but they should really call it fun camp. Jay and Marcel are created the most fun outdoor get in shape training program I have ever been to. I tried other classes indoors and even outdoors. There has to be a reason why this program is been around for so long and most of the people in the program and have been there forever and they tell me they will be there forever so I am with them. There is free parking which is unbelievable in Los Angeles and it's in a park that I didn't even know it was here at the La Brea tar pits right off of Wilshire Boulevard

Bootcamp LA has been a game-changer for me. I struggled for years to get back on a workout routine and this is exactly what I needed. Being part of a group who look forward to seeing you every time gave me the accountability I needed to stay consistent.

If you're thinking about coming but are worried you won't keep up, don't let that stop you. The other participants span a wide range of ages and fitness levels, and Jay and Marcella have lots of tricks to adjust intensity so it's right for each individual. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Really love going to this Boot Camp. It's challenging and fun at the same time which is hard to say with all workouts. I can't say enough good things about the outcome that I've seen and the weight I've lost. https://g.co/kgs/R3xvy8

I absolutely love going to Boot Camp LA, I have so much fun with the Major and The LT. Jay and Marcella Kerwin. I can't believe we get to run all around the La Brea Tar Pits museum Park. It is a hidden gem in the hustle and bustle of the city. I mean with all the trees and grass it is so pretty. You almost forget you are working out. I have been going to Bootcamp LA for 3 years and I find that most of the people that attend have been there for like 5 or 10 years or more. So that really speaks to the level of commitment Jay and Marcella have towards there participants. They throw a summer party

LOVE Boot Camp LA. I worked out every week with them for almost a year before work schedule changed. I miss them! I build muscle and strength didn’t know I could. Major and Lt are very encouraging, honest and really care about your well being. The morning workouts were my favorite! So much fun working-out outdoors!
Luckily, Marcella (LT) started a 30 day challenge for those that cannot make bootcamp because of work, school, kids, distance etc. With my baby I wasn’t able to go to the gym AT ALL! But I was able to do the challenge after my son’s bedtime. I started feeling better within a week

Boot Camp L.A. is one of the best ways to workout! The community is great and you always feel supported no matter what your skill level! I found this group. The best thing about it is you have free parking in this huge parking lot which is very rare in Los Angeles. The majors probably the coolest personal trainer I’ve ever met. The name Boot Camp sounds a little intimidating but it’s totally more like fun camp. Come on out and give it a try I will see you to. there.

I normally hate working out but Boot Camp LA makes it fun. It's very challenging and the work out program is spot on. Jay, who runs it, is patient and motivating. If you're up for something a little different and want to meet some great people definitely give it a try!

BootCamp LA is the highlight of my day..... I'm not the type that wakes up eager to work out, but having made the commitment to myself to get into shape, BCLA makes it a whole lot easier to fulfill that commitment because Major and Lt. motivate me to be my best. The camaraderie and energy of the events are great, the vibe is always positive, and after completing my workout I'm ready for whatever the day may bring!

I just moved to Los Angeles I was having trouble making friends I joined boot camp La we had the best time it's really a community. It's more than just a workout program. We got to work out in the most beautiful outdoor setting in Los Angeles. I didn't even know they had Parks like this in Los Angeles. One of the great things is it's a big free parking lot you pull into I don't have to worry about parking or valet parking or getting a ticket. Which is very common. For $83 for parking ticket. As soon as I pulled up I knew I was at the right program when the major and the lieutenant Jay and Marcella

I am so happy I joined this boot camp program. I have tried other workout programs and I just haven't been able to stick with them. I go three times a week and it's just hard enough so I feel like I had a great work out but not so hard that I regret going again the next day. Instructors are great, major and LT. Jay and Marcella. I have created a great community and it's a lot of fun we always do different stuff. But it's a weightlifting program with dumbbells. Mixed with running drills like her daughter and running up the hills and stairs and stuff. It's amazing that we could use this whole park

This is gonna be kinda long, but I have been meaning to write a review forever..
I was going to bcLa for a few years and it is the best workout in Los Angeles in my humble opinion lol! I had to move down to OC..BUT It is one of the most fun memories I have when I lived there-I definitely recommend giving their bc program at least 3 x to see if it's a fit for you (there is a saying to try something 3 times before you make a decision). It's definitely a lot more fun than it is intimidating!!Jay and Marcella -major' and 'lieutenant'- really know what they're doing. They

Since my original review was "removed due to its promotional content" (read: I mentioned a much better bootcamp that I experienced), here is a repost minus the competitions name:

If you're fairly fit/active and you're looking for an EXTRA push, you will find this a waste. Granted, the couple who runs it is nice and supportive etc etc...but if you're fairly fit, you don't need "nice and supportive" you need someone who will work you out, a hard workout with people telling you "You can do it"..not a midrange workout that accomodates the not so fit

Great workout! Great people! Recently moved from Michigan, I've been attending Boot Camp L.A. for almost a year now and love it. The major (jay) and the Lieutenant (marcella) have created a great supportive environment most conducive to lasting results. Driven and motivational. Flexible workout schedule. Small groups, more one on one. Not only do they coach you on nutrition, they even give you an e-book with specifics. Genuine, passionate and caring team. I've tried many gym programs and boot camps and this yields the best, quickest results! Thanks guys. A++++++++

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I've personally researched this company and found that they are falsely advertising their skills and experience. Jay Kerwin is not a special ops veteran as claimed in his groupon at this link: http://www.groupon.com/deals/boot-camp-la-1 and in fact, he spent most of his Air Force career in the brig for dealing illegal drugs (steroids).

He was called out on his fake claims, including that he was a Navy SEAL and he initially refused, stating that it would be bad for his business.

His wife, who claims the title of Lieutenant, never served in the

OMG - BOOTCAMP LA is a highlight of my Los Angeles experience. Moved to Cali, gained 10 lbs, LT + the Mj changed my life, and the weight was gone. Been in touch with them for nearly a decade and their class is stable, their service is always friendly, the business is always on the "honor system" and they don't take credit cards so to the credit card naysayer, you have no argument. They have always been fun, super nice, and gave a good solid workout. There's no fraud to the workout. It's an outdoor workout given by hard core fitness trainers.

I've been going to Boot Camp LA for more than a decade. I knew Jay and Marcella for two years prior, having interviewed them and written an article about them for a newspaper in Los Angeles, as they were early "boot camp" pioneers in LA. In all that time, Jay never referred to himself as a Navy SEAL. I've never heard him say he was a graduate of Pararescue training, only that he attended and that he excelled in some of the classes/tests. He never claimed he was an actual major. He made it clear he was actually an airman, and the Boot Camp "ranks" were just for fun
