We often believe our pain is deeply rooted, with no possibility of healing. Change is, in fact, possible. We now know our brain forms new connections throughout our life, allowing for the possibility of transformation and restoration mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. New connections in the brain are much like the roots of a tree.
New roots can grow, impacting our overall health and well-being. While primarily working with individuals, our practice also considers the others in your life. We were created to be in relationship with one another, and so often many of our most difficult challenges come when we are interacting with family, friends, and co-workers.

As professionally trained clinicians, we offer a variety of approaches to help you reach your goals. While we may offer our training and expertise, we also recognize you are the expert of you. The approaches within individual counseling vary based on the needs and goals of the person seeking treatment. Traditional psychotherapy often begins with talking about your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors related to the challenges you face today. An important key to growth and change involves vulnerability and connection with others.
Each stage of life offers its own unique challenges emotionally, physically, mentally, and socially. The years of adolescence and young adulthood can be especially difficult given the developmental needs of these age groups as they move toward greater independence and autonomy.
Teenagers are crossing the bridge between childhood and adulthood while young adults continue to face increased pressure as they learn to live own their own and accept greater responsibility for their lives.Much of what young people face is predictable and can be managed through positive parent support, healthy relationships, the process of learning from mistakes, and increased maturity.

When healing from trauma, recovery means the ability to live in the present without being overwhelmed by the thoughts, feelings, and physical experiences of the past. An event becomes traumatic when a person experiences helplessness, isolation and the loss of power and control. The process of safe trauma recovery involves layers of interventions that occur in a therapeutic setting based on the needs of the client.
