Learn more about Dr. Harris. Formerly named Sweeney Animal Hospital, the facility that now houses WAH has been a pet care fixture in the Woodlawn community for over 90+ years! Woodlawn Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital including an in-house pharmacy, surgery suite, in-house lab, on-site x-ray capabilities and a supervised recovery area.
Harmful intestinal parasites, like roundworms, hookworms, and whip worms, are detected only by using a microscope. Dogs and cats easily pick up intestinal parasites through normal daily activities putting them at risk. Some parasites carried by your pets can pose a danger to you and your family, too.

We are fully equipped with ABAXIS lab equipment for blood tests and have x-ray capabilities. Our ABAXIS diagnostic equipment allows us to run CBC's, chemistry panels, electrolytes, thyroid screening test, clotting panels and others, while you wait! We also perform heartworm tests and test for Parvovirus.
It's easy to overlook your pet's oral health. However, visits to Woodlawn Hospital for pet dental care follow the same logic as dental visits for people. Our pets eat and chew food every day, the same way we do. And like people, a pet's overall health can be negatively impacted by untreated dental disease, even though you may be brushing every day.

My dog was overdue for her vaccinations and had a rsh forming on her body, so I needed a vet that was close to home. We had a 12:30 appointment, no one saw us until 40 minutes later. My dog and I were getting impatient and the person I spoke to on the phone took notice of my attitude. Then they cancelled the appointment and refunded me the $85 deposit fee, explaining that they didn't know about her temperament and didn't like us being impatient. Both of those were poor excuses.
