Services
I have a technical background and do a number of repairs myself, and I wanted to talk to the mechanic myself, not a service writer. The owner was extra personable and unfailingly helpful. The guy seemed much smarter than most of the car experts I deal with and his explanations were logical and clear.

Moshe is the absolute best. I have two slightly older cars, both purchased used, that I've taken to Moshe for various issues. Moshe has always diagnosed and fixed the problems correctly and has done so for cheaper than what other mechanics or dealerships have estimated. Moshe is the first mechanic I've ever had who I really trust. As a result I'm happy to pay his slightly higher rates on things like oil changes or standard services because I trust he will only flag issues he thinks are real and then, by fixing them at a reasonable rate, will help me avoid bigger problems down

They can't schedule service, you have to leave your car all day. But worse after 3 days of phone calls with the owner, when I finally brought the car in, they didn't do the service needed. They are very friendly and I have no reason to doubt their work quality but here is my personal experience: for 3 days I talked with Moshe trying to schedule a major maintenance service. I would call in the morning so he would see how busy they were for the day - if you are in the same situation don't call before 9am (they open at 8am). Finally on a Friday he asked to call back at noon to see how busy they were

I chose to try Moshe's Auto Care because of the many reviews describing Moshe's business as an honest and knowledgeable one. My experience confirmed all of the positive reviews. My car was shaking as I drove and I needed a quick repair before a long trip. On the phone Moshe identified what he thought the problem was (which turned out to be an accurate assessment) and he was able to fit me in within a very short time frame even though I was a first time customer.
What I appreciated the most about Moshe was that he was genuinely honest, respectful, and transparent throughout the entire

Incredibly knowledgeable and incredibly honest - a winning combination!
I know very little about cars, but on the few occasions where my car has needed only small repairs, Moshe only gave me those small repairs that I needed rather than trying to convince me that I needed more. Once my bill was less than $100, including labor, because I needed only a wheel stud and lug nut.
When I've had bigger problems, he's taken care of those too very fairly, and he showed me the parts he removed afterwards and explained everything to me.
I think that the following story exemplifies his business

Finding a great mechanic is probably harder than finding a partner. Anyways. After searching on Yelp for a bit I found moshe's. I have a 2010 Nissan Sentra with literally. 238,000 miles. (Long story) I let him know. I just need it to run so an oil change. I barely drive. And it makes a weird noise. I dropped it off. And brought my dog with me so we can walk home. He was so funny about my dog saying ok get your stuff out and meet me inside. Don't forget your dog. I got a call like an hour later to go over suggestions. Soooooo honest. Very transparent. Spoke to me with so much respect.

I have been taking my cars to Moshe for more than a decade. He is totally honest. Recently, I had a leak that he couldn't diagnose and at his suggestion, I took my Nissan to a Silver Spring dealer. The dealer charged over $700 to fix the problem -- I was prepared for that. They also did their free multi-point diagnostics and found another $3000 worth of problems -- brakes, battery, belts and more all needed replacement. I said no and took it to Moshe. He put the car on the lift, looked at everything and said, Nothing wrong with battery, brakes, belts, etc. You could drive this car to California

After getting ripped off at other shops around the DMV for the last 6 years, I took my 30 yro Toyota pickup to get serviced by Moshe. He went above and beyond to help me out, and addressed several problems that others had missed. He was very fair, kind, honest, and thorough. Was a quick turnaround and my truck is running better than ever, highly recommend this shop!

Moshe is awesome! He stands by his work. He fixed my brakes three times (twice for free) because the OEM brake rotors warped (which is obviously not his fault). Take your car here-- you won't regret it! And by the way, he is still open despite the Covid-19 pandemic, and he has plenty of appointments available.
Thank you Moshe for being the best mechanic I have ever known.

I had an issue with my Hyundai Sonata with the turbo acceleration. I ran the car through my OMDB2 diagnostic and found the error code. I contacted Mr. Moshe and he was able to tell me what he thought was the issue and the part I needed to order. Luckily I found the part locally and took it to Mr. Moshe. He was busy but more than willing to take a look at the problem. I left the car and after an hour he called me back with a solution. He was clear in setting the expectations and gave me his opinion on the best approach to fix the problem. He replaced the part in less than 2 minutes, and as of now

Moshe’s Auto Care did an excellent job in servicing my Toyota Camry while I was in the DC - Silver Spring area. This unassuming shop is tucked away in a modest area of Silver Spring teeming with semis and dump trucks, glass repair and auto body shops. I placed a call to this shop after searching far and wide for some place to work on my son’s vehicle before I left town to fly back to the other end of the country. This gentleman accommodated me, which I appreciated very much. Once I located Moshe’s shop, I was surprised to find it was a small shop with a full slate of loyal customers and a

A real, honest mechanic. I (stupidly) took my car to another shop after it wouldn’t start, and they wanted to charge me for a $900 repair. Had it towed to Moshe, and he gave me a completely different, and much cheaper, diagnosis. A rat had chewed through a wire connected to the engine.
I don’t know anything about cars, and he could’ve taken advantage of me big time, but instead he gave me an honest diagnosis and charged a tiny fraction of what I was going to get ripped off for at the other mechanic. Love this guy.

I would recommend Moshe's auto care to anyone. He is a very thorough, honest and knowledgeable mechanic. I have never heard him try to sell me something I didn't need.
He has done work for me at no charge where the work was insignificant (but he spent almost an hour on it). His website says that he will beat any dealer service estimate by 15%.
I have never had to take him up on the offer because I don't go to the dealer for work on my car. I take it to Moshe.
Highly recommended.

We have been taking our cars to Moshe’s for 15 years. His auto service company is the best one I have dealt with since I started having the responsibility for car care in 1973. Moshe is exceedingly conscientious, a perfectionist in getting the job done correctly but eager to save you money. Several times I have suggested repairs that he has recommended against as a waste of money. For example, for a long time I had a defective fog light on my old Subaru wagon. I suggested replacing it. He asked, “how much do you need it? How much would I use it? It’s more expensive than its worth to you.”

I've been to Moshe's several times. He's a totally upright and trustworthy person. The last time I went, he wouldn't even charge me for fixing a broken plastic cowling under my car that was making noises as I drove. He's much less expensive than the dealer and when you leave his place you won't be returning a week later because something wasn't tightened right, as happened with me with a dealer and an oil change. Really great guy.

When you bring your car to Moshe you can expect two of the most important qualities in a car mechanic: honesty and straight talk. Moshe tells you like it is, without the fluff and upselling that other mechanics add in. I have brought several different cars to Moshe over the past few years and he has taken the time to expertly diagnose the problem and explain my options. He tells you the breakdown between parts and labor, and the estimates are routinely less expensive than other shops.
Give Moshe's Auto Care a try -- Moshe is a really good guy who operates an honest business!

Moshe is either incompetent, or a crook, maybe both, but definitely dishonest. My son was traveling through Maryland and had the CV joint on his car begin to make noise. He took it to Moshe to replace the axle. Moshe did so and charged him $200 for a "new" axle. Two weeks later my son (now near home) called me stranded! I went and hauled my son's car back to his house. I am a car buff and worked in a shop in my youth. I live a couple of hours from my son, so it wasn't until a week later was able to take my tools and jack to see what had happened. The axle Moshe put in had fallen out of the transmission

We moved to Kensington recently and have now found a great mechanic! We have an older Jeep Liberty that had leaking oil gaskets but Moshe very quickly told us what the issue was and did the work at an extremely good price.
Fantastic quick turn-around time too! We also had rear brakes done, antifreeze, and oil change as they were also due.
He also installed a door part we had purchased online for free because he said it was easy to put in. Skilled & Honest Business! Love love love!!
I can see why my neighbors on Nextdoor love this business!

Have been going to Moshe for about one year, and I'm hooked. Bottom line: Moshe is by far the best mechanic I've ever found -- and that's after owning used cars for exactly 50 years.
Moshe is very knowledgeable, highly skilled, takes pride in his work, and is totally honest. He looks for ways to save $, never does unnecessary work, and gives honest recommendations, such as when it pays to pay more for an OEM part and when an after-market knock off will do.
He owns his own small shop -- just two bays -- and seems to do most of the non-routine work himself (I've never seen more than one assistant

I've been trying to find a trustworthy auto mechanic in Silver Spring for years. I think I've finally found one! Moshe gave me details about my car that other shops have never brought to my attention, but he did not try to get me to repair things that did not need to be repaired. While Meineke tried to quote me over $1K for my right engine mount (and likely some other unnecessary/random repairs), Moshe's quote was well over half of that. I also saved a lot of money on my brakes; he was honest and told me that I only needed brake pads, whereas other shops will immediately mention

I've been using Moshe for several years, and his prices are often well below dealer costs. He also gave me an alternative for body work which was to a place that charged less than 50% of the price quoted to me by a big-time outfit.
Most recently, my wife had a tire puncture; we inflated it, she drove to his shop, he repaired it immediately, and would not accept any payment.
A gentleman, knowledgeable, and extraordinarily trustworthy.
