My car died in the middle of the night and I had it towed to Murray's. I had a 2001 Nissan Xterra so I feared the worst in terms of cost to bring it back to life. The next day a representative from Murray's called me and told me it was a simple fix and the total would come in under $300 (mostly for the part needed). I picked up my car a day later and was back on the road.
I think a lot of mechanics could've taken advantage of the situation and gotten more money considering the car was old and the check engine light was on prior to the car dying. But Murray's fixed the issue that caused the car

I needed an MD state inspection and was a little nervous because I’ve been ripped off by car places before. I found Murray’s on the state website and looked them up on Google. I was encouraged by the high number of positive reviews, so I made an appointment. I’m pleased to say the reviews are correct. Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. There were no surprises with what needed to be fixed, and I found the prices reasonable and fair. I will definitely be bringing my car back for future maintenance.

In the past 18 years Murray's has seen me and my family through 2 Volvos, 2 Fords, a Honda and a Toyota, and now a Prius. They earned my trust from the first when my Volvo S80 was throwing off 18 codes. Another auto place wanted to fix all 18. At Murray's the mechanic reasoned that they must all have something in common, and traced it to the single point of failure, fixed that, and all was well.
They have never condescended to me, a woman, but have always been courteous and exceedingly honest. They suggest what really needs attention versus what bears monitoring and test their repairs

They do good work, but they 100% sold my email to scammers. It is no coincidence that the day after leaving them my email for contact information, I started getting nonstop car insurance emails from shady sources. Update: I appreciate the response! Thank you for clarifying that. It is still distressing that I am receiving all these scam messages ever since giving you my email, but I trust you when you say you're not selling my email.

I’ve been going to Murray’s exclusively for over 5 years now and always recommend them. I’ve recently taken my car to other auto shops due to time constraints, and I’ve found that Murray’s prices and the value they offer aren’t what they used to be. I took my car in for a Check Engine & Air Bag light and was charged two diagnostic fees per issue (totaling ~$300), not including any work done on my car. I don’t remember that ever being the case—I even called them to confirm that I was, in fact, charged two diagnostic fees. The other places I’ve taken my car to charged less than

Needed MD State Inspection completed in a timely manner for my 2008 Honda Civic. Murray’s had the highest customer ratings that I found. Murray’s performed all services needed for inspection except for rust repair. Murray’s worked with me and local body shop to have rust work done in time for inspection to pass. My car was transported back and forth for me which was greatly appreciated. Very professional and friendly and reliable service, great communication and fair pricing. Brought in my 2004 Escalade for gas smell outside of the vehicle. They diagnosed it correctly and quickly. Turns out I needed a fuel pump replaced because it was rusted it is mounted on top of the gas tank, so is necessary to remove the gas tank to replace it. Also needed to replace or repair fuel lines some of which are no longer available from GM. They did a great job obtaining the hard to get parts. They kept me updated the whole time over a 3-day period. Finally the repair was completed and was slightly below the original estimate which was a pleasant surprise. The team here has a lot of experience

Great deal on synthetic oil and filter change. I was worried they would over charge or pressure me into other services since I’m a young female but they were very kind and well priced. Murray's Auto Clinic solved a very tricky problem with my Mazda 3 ABS Control Module. Alex was very helpful, honest and straight forward from the beginning. Tim (shop foreman) and Murray (owner) kept the car until every problem was addressed and went the extra mile to make sure my car was safe and I was happy with the results.
It's hard to find honest & talented technicians these days. I went with this shop because of the great reviews and I was not disappointed. I am visiting from New Mexico, and my only complaint is that I cannot take them with me for future needs.

Murray's auto clinic helps me when my car stopped suddenly while driving on 16th st. They were great with explaining what had occurred, in this case several things were wrong with the car and unfortunately could not be repaired without replacing the engine. They treated me well and did not overcharge for the diagnostics of the car. I will use them in the future for all my repair needs.

When you want it done right, do it yourself...Well, Murray's tosses that adage out the window. They're efficient and I trust their diagnoses and work. They tell you the needed repair and its urgency AND they must know they are the schiznik bc they NEVER used high pressure tactics. You either say 'yes, do it now' or 'no, I'll wait.' I use overnight dropoff, and they call you when the car's ready--for my repairs, it's the w/n 24 hours.
I've never seen a customer waiting area, so I usually wait near the entrance, where the very busy and paperwork

I just want to say "Thank you!" During the holidays I was having lunch with my sister and her partner who live close to Murray's. When I was starting to drive home I could hear something that sounded like metal dragging under my car. "Please don't let it be the muffler." It wasn't. I needed a lightbulb installed on my Mazda 3. If you own a Mazda, you know the pain of installing the bulb. Haven been burned by a few repair shops, mainly Adelphi Auto, I was reluctant to let anyone else touch my car.
