All around amazing restaurant! I've had a lot of Indian food and this hits the spot regularly. Their vegetarian dishes, as well as their meat dishes, are perfect. I love that they have the dinner entree combo's, where you get a generous serving of a curry, rice, dal, grilled veggies, and naan - it makes it really easy to have a satisfying meal for 1, with leftovers. My go to is the Baigan Bharta. At other places you have to order either a bunch of food, or no variety. I usually just do takeout, but the restaurant itself is really cute and well-designed. Our family has been coming to this restaurant for around 10 (?) years. My kids LOVE the chicken tikka masala; for them Khana Peena's is the best and they always ask for it. And we've been to lots of different Indian restaurants! We also like their lamb saag and naans. The outdoor space is pleasant and relaxing. The service has always been really nice. I appreciate the owner is very friendly, remembers us, and always checks to make sure we are satisfied with our meal. Great neighborhood spot.

Visited this restaurant on my birthday and was so disappointed with the experience! Being Indian, I tend to be picky with Indian food in the Bay Area but this restaurant barely got the basics right. Even a simple Butter Chicken/ Paneer Tikka Masala just tasted like a mouthful of butter and cream, barely got the flavor of any Masalas that actually bring out the taste of this incredible dish!! The only decent item I tried here was the Samosa Chaat.
But I must also add that the server was accommodating and he didn't mind me returning the Chicken dish for a Paneer one instead. So don't let

Great drinks and food, especially for vegetarians! We usually get some of the dinner combos that come with the grilled veggies and naan. Ambiance and service when dining in is wonderful, they have a nice patio for outdoor dining. Ordered pickup here a lot throughout pandemic which was reliably delicious too.

This restaurant serves the most amazing and delicious Indian food in the entire Bay Area. My daughters and I have been eating here for more than 8 years. I have eaten at other Indian restaurants and none of them come close to meeting Khana Peena's commitment to excellence. I love the Rhogan Ghosh but everything they serve is amazing.

Came to Khana Peena's lovely outdoor patio on June 9, 2021 for a celebratory graduation dinner. Excellent and delicious food - we had chicken tikka masala, mango chicken, prawn tikka masala, and tandoori chicken, plus mango lassi and two different kinds of naan (plain and paneer). Service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is very careful with covid distancing - much appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Four days ago we had food delivered from Khana Peena. It was AMAZING. Spectacular chicken tandoori. Flavorful deep rich Baingan Bharta. Simple fresh raita.
Got it again. I had to check four times to be sure it was the same restaurant. It was awful. Obviously a different cook. A miserable horrible experience because I was expecting what I had a few days ago.

Having ordered a couple times from this restaurant over the past two weeks, we've noticed that the spice levels seem to be quite random. The meat portions in the ala carte dishes are really quite small. Taken together, the online ordering discount as applied to our orders does not present good value.

I always love this restaurant. This is where are you come to have a nice casual experience. The wait staff are caring but will leave you alone. You can dine indoors or in the patio for a different experience. As for the food, it is the best comfort food with plenty of taste or fire! A large menu of food including vegetarian, and you can let your waiter know how you want your food to taste. Our go-to has always been the chicken tikka masala and garlic Nan. Superb. You won't be disappointed here.

We ordered vegetable pakora which was served hot. Then for dinner we ordered malai kofta and aloo gobhi which were served fresh too!
I didn't have very high expectations with the place as I saw all Americans loving the food - meaning that the food wouldn't be authentic Indian style
But, I really enjoyed what we ordered- vegetable pakora, malai kofta, garlic naam which was crispy, aloo gobhi and mango lassi!
I also wanted my friend to ras malai but they were out of it

Im obsessed!!! I love this restaurant and strongly encourage everyone to try it. The food is delicious, the staff are patient, attentive and extremely sweet; and the atmosphere is gorgeous.
If anyone has anything negative to say, they most likely have their own extreme set of specific expectations and guide lines to what they feel indian cuisine should taste like, instead of simply enjoying the next chef's representation of the dish.
Most restaurants of any type I've been to have never been exactly the same. That's what makes them something to appreciate.

Good ambience. I found the food bland for the Indian taste. We tried samosas,they had very low spice level. They had option of ala Carta and dinner meals. We tried dinner meals one with baigan bharta and yellow lentil dal, and the other with matar paneer and chana masala. It was okay.Garlic naan was good. They should have a spice level to accommodate people with all kinds of spice appetite. They have good cocktail options. The servers were friendly. The highlight for me was dessert. We tried gulab jamun and they were to die for. I would recommend to try them here.
