So how do I explain the enneagram? The enneagram is a theory that answers the "why" question; why do we do what we do. It theorizes that people experience and interpret reality from one of three perspectives. It calls these perspectives "triads" or "centers of intelligence". These 3 triads are called the Gut Triad, the Heart Triad and the Head Triad.

We either perceive life predominantly through our instincts (bodies) or through our emotions (heart) or through our thoughts (head). These centers also identify for us the group's emotional response. Robin's teaching has helped me understand my weaknesses and blind spots. Knowledge is power.

Sometimes, typing oneself can be tricky. The online tests are accurate only to the degree that the one who is taking the test has accurate self-awareness. And then to complicate things further, we have these things called "counter-types". What that means, is about 1/3 of the people who type themselves often initially land on the wrong type.
After you learn your enneagram type, you have NOT found out who you are, but who you are not! The theory states that your type is your False Self; you have learned the characteristics of your "acorn shell". Your enneagram type is your personality structure that was meant to have a half life and then, like the hull of an acorn, it was meant to soften so that your "oak tree" self can come forth.
I look forward to helping you find your enneagram type and then how to apply that knowledge to your everyday life. Robin's teaching has helped me understand my weaknesses and blind spots. Knowledge is power. Simply knowing more about who I am has helped me improve my relationships with family and co-workers.

Robin's knowledge and experience have truly helped me over the past several years. She has given me the tools and insights I need to develop self-awareness and become a better version of myself. This has had positive impact for my personal relationships, career, and life in general. It is worth mentioning that one of her specialties is her understanding of the Enneagram. This is a tool we have explored and used during our sessions. There are very few such experts in this area. I cannot recommend Robin and Unorthodox Counseling enough!
