The American Animal Hospital Association is the only organization to accredit companion veterinary hospitals. The AAHA Standards of Accreditation are composed of 940 standards and 18 categories covering all areas of veterinary practice-from anesthesia and pain management to recordkeeping and client communication.
Dr. Tracey Maione hails from the University of Illinois earning both her Bachelor's degree of pre-veterinary science and her doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in Urbana-Champaign. She grew up in Chicago and the near north suburbs, but has claimed the north side of Chicago as her beloved home base for the last 9 years.
We want you to feel confident and calm when you bring your pet to see us. During every single visit, we want to make sure that your entire family (pet included) is comfortable. Oz Animal Hospital is both AAHA Accredited and a Cat Friendly Practice. At Oz Animal Hospital, we offer comprehensive examinations that help evaluate the overall health of your pet.
I don't see how you could have made it any better. Dr. V and the entire staff were very thorough in their exam of our dog and showed extraordinary compassion, taking the time to bond with her and also giving us all of the possible treatment options, including their advantages and costs. We were both very impressed and will now be bringing our dog to you as our regular vet.

So, I am looking for a new vet for my dog after we moved. She was up to date on everything and we actually still see a separate specialist for some digestive issues she had so when I inquired as to an appointment being available at Oz Animal Hospital to get her a check up and get her on file and was told that they wouldn't have any appointments until December 15 (this was early November), I said no problem and we'd come in December. I emailed them today (December 9) to check in. She is also now due for her Bordatella vaccine so I figured we'd get in for a check up and vaccine on

I will always have a special place in my heart for OZ animal hospital. The other day I came home from work to see my front door open and my dog missing. I was absolutely devastated and literally looking all around my neighborhood for my mini poodle Sabrina. It was especially cold that night and I was almost sure I wouldn't find her. OZ Animal Hospital graciously contacted me sharing that a Good Samaritan had brought in my pup and they utilized her microchip to find me. I'm sure I sounded half crazy on the phone as i was in the midst of tears. They were so very kind to me at a very vulnerable

I took my rescue cat for her first vet visit after her adoption and they were so kind and sweet with my girl! We were able to come in last minute after a cancellation and I filled out information online beforehand so the actually visit was fast and painless. Dr. Valbuena was so calm and efficient that my normally nervous and jumpy girl was relaxed and relatively anxiety-free. She is back home and lounging like nothing happened. I like that they are transparent with costs and give options for the wellness panel. They offer treats and everyone is very nice!

My little man Quincy has advanced stage heart disease and we bring him to OZ to see Dr. Pinhasi for all of his primary care needs. As someone who is constantly in and out of vet offices, I can confidently say that this is the best place for my little guy!
The entire veterinarian team at Oz is truly one of a kind. They are the kindest most compassionate and loving providers. Every visit with Quincy to Oz is so easy and it's truly heartwarming to see the love and care he receives here. Could not recommended this place

We are SO HAPPY with Oz Animal hospital! Dr. Garza and the entire team at the Rogers Park location are so warm, and welcoming, and so good at taking care of our husky scream-monsters. Everyone we've met has gone above and beyond to make sure we understand what's going on, and how much it costs, and what our options are. And they trimmed both our dogs' nails, which is no small feat. We're so glad you're in the neighborhood, Oz!

I was so unhappy with my vet for a while... I was getting HUNDREDS in bills that I found unnecessary but didn’t want to speak up because I didn’t want to be one of those moms who go on WebMD and think they know more than a vet. I finally switched to Oz Park and took my babies to their first general appointment yesterday, and it’s like night and… day. The transparency in billing, the kindness of the staff, the communication... I wish I did this earlier!! My big guy was ~*less than kind*~ to the staff and I appreciate so much that they didn’t treat him like a monster

We have been bringing our new cat to Oz Animal Hospital for about six months now and have only had amazing, positive experiences! Seriously, this vet is so wonderful. Our friends recommended Oz and Dr. Valbuena and we are so grateful to them for the recommendation! Our kitty has had a few health scares already, but Dr. Valbuena always responds promptly to my frantic emails and has helped us provide our girl with great care. Like many people have done the past few months, my girlfriend & I recently got a new puppy. We spent all the time doing research on training, food, toys, etc., so of course we were going to be sure we found a great vet to take her to. Living in Lincoln Park, there are quite a few good options nearby. I reached out to OZ and one other nearby vet. OZ was able to get us on the schedule within 2 weeks, while the other wasn't taking new patients until March.

What a lovely, informative group! Dr. Tracey Maione, DVM saw my new 13-week-old puppy today and she was so kind and helpful in walking through my little buddy's needs. Carly, the technician, and Kimberly at reception were also delightful. Of course, I was curbside for the appointment due to social distancing, but I still felt welcomed and that my puppy was well taken care of. I am a first-time puppy parent and I feel very at ease with Oz Animal Hospital and would recommend to others. They even sent me a picture of my puppy enjoying some cheese during his exam! I've only been going to Oz Animal Hospital for about 2 weeks (because I've only had my puppy for two weeks), but I'm thrilled about the service so far. My new puppy has had a rough couple weeks.. 3 types of parasites and a case of kennel cough - so we've already been here twice. Everyone is so friendly and caring with my puppy. Horrible experience. Do not go there under any circumstances.
Greed for fees, not care for your loved one, is what drives Oz Family. Routine visit cost $771.
And, my 4 year old Maltese is crying and shaking 6 hours after visiting Oz.
After being a dog owner for over 30 years, I have never experienced such horrible treatment of a pet.

I'm honestly a little jealous my cat has a better GP than most humans I know. This is such a compassionate place full of wonderful, honest people. My cat's vet, Dr. Valbuena, is a true angel, a real advocate of all creatures who gives every case her all. Again, she gives more time and attention to my cat than my own general practitioners generally give me. Cannot recommend enough, I have nothing but love and gratitude for this place and their professional care.

This place rocks!! As we walked in for our appointment and led to our exam room, lo and behold a little sign welcoming Willy to Oz Animal Hospital. How cute. The staff is super sweet and accommodating (Mom got a nice cup of coffee while waiting) and are very quick to answer questions and move the process along.
Since the change in ownership, I have witnessed an improved, cleaner and updated facility and a fresh new staff that is pumped to offer good and kind service.

I am so thankful for the OZ Vet team. They were caring & concerned from the first phone call to see if I could get a rush appointment, to ushering me straight back to an exam room upon arrival, to be more comfortable while completing new patient paperwork. The tech was warm in greeting me, as well as my pup, by name, and took my full story re: my concern of my pup's health issue.
When the Dr. came in she was up to speed on the situation & was very sweet to my pup--even got down on the floor to greet her & make her feel more at ease, knowing she was in pain & nervous.

The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere is so warm, welcoming and clean! They didn't try to push unnecessary procedures/vaccinations and were very respectful of my preferences. They even send an adorable postcard with a picture of your animal. Oz provides individualized care and makes you feel like you are getting the best services. HIGHLY recommend.

My rescue dog is high maintenance and Oz does an amazing job at always squeezing us in for either day of or next day appointments. They are always so patient given his anxiety and fear aggression (which they do a great job treating as well). It has been so great to have an understanding vet & vet techs!

Sir Basil Denim Dior is treated with the best care at Oz Animal Hospital. The staff is very friendly and takes great care of him. They explain everything to you and provide a few different treatment options. Sir Basil deals with sensitive skin and has had flare ups since his recent move from Portland to Chicago. We were recommended by my cousins and Big Daddy Stone Cold Chillin and we see Dr. Joshi. <3

Highly recommend Oz Animal Hospital! Everyone is so kind, knowledgeable, and responsive! We never spend more than 5 minutes waiting to get into a room to see a tech or vet, and always leave with a clear understanding of how our pup is doing (+she always leaves with treats ) Messages are returned right away, and they even help us submit our paperwork for insurance purposes.

By far the best vet experience I’ve ever had. Dr Maione and the entire team have always been amazing in every aspect. I’ve never left without a clear understanding of where Gustav and I were, and where we we needed to be. At 4.5 miles away, they’re definitely not the closest vet for us, but as far as I’m concerned, the absolute best.

Oz Animal Hospital is top notch! I would recommend it to everyone. I don't live close to it, but I still bring my fur babies here because of the excellent care and love they have/give all animals. The staff is very friendly and knowledge, and hands down Dr. Maione is the best vet my babies have ever went to. Every time I go there, it just keeps getting better and better.

You can easily schedule your appointment through a pet partner app. They are accommodating and excellent at making sure the appointment fits your schedule.
Be prepared for your pet to be spoiled by the staff while waiting for their appointment.
The vets and vet tech are very knowledgeable and excellent at answering any sort of questions you may have.
They provide a lot of other services there too as well as carry a wide variety of extras like heart guard, flea

Everyone at Oz was so welcoming! We were even on the VIP list as we checked in. :) Love that you can post and tag pictures/videos that will play on the screen~ one of my cats is super chill and the other is, shall we say, NOT. They were really nice and patient and made her into a little kitty burrito to help calm her.
