Classic tastes better. BoBo's Fine Chicken Restaurant takes you back with the traditional food of Tidewater, Virginia-the birthplace of Southern cuisine. At BoBo's, you can find some of the food that people rarely take the time to make anymore. Fried Chicken. Our recipes span generations of timeless Virginia cooking that have been passed down from our family and friends.
Seasonal, locally sourced ingredients are the backbone of our menu. It's fresh, homemade food that's fast. Drive on thru or stop in. Tot was legendary for all of her cooking back in the 50's and 60's when she was a family cook. We use her ice cream custard recipe as a base for all of our homemade ice cream.

All the recipes at BoBo's have been passed down from our family and friends. It's Southern cooking that you haven't tasted in a while. Fried chicken is done differently here. We use Bo's grandmother, May Henry Midgett's, recipe for fried chicken-a recipe going back at least four generations. Our chicken is brined and battered over a two-day process and then fried in pure peanut oil.

I'm so glad we tried this place. The service was excellent and informative. The chicken was the best I've ever had. All of the sauces were great but hardly necessary because the chicken was fabulous all on it's own. All of the sides were also excellent, particularly the stew and the Mac and cheese. It's better than grandma makes it and that's saying something. You won't regret trying this place. Best home cooking I've ever picked up in a drive thru. Love it!!!

This place is absolutely amazing! one, the food and service is 10/10, everyone is so kind and the food is amazing! i’m not a huge breakfast or biscuit fan, and i wasn’t sure when the lunch menu started, not knowing i ordered the tenders meal, and the worker kindly told me that lunch didn’t start till 10:30 but she would ask the kitchen, and they made my tenders meal for me!! i was so happy, the food is so good, the sweet tea is the best around here, this place is definitely one of the best quick chicken places in the VB area!

This place is ridiculous. We got several chicken meals and shared various sides. None of the sides were anything short of delicious. As others have said, the Mac & Cheese was particularly good. Let's not let those overshadow the great chicken. Such nice flavor with minimal breading. We're saving the container of Brunswick Stew for lunch, but a quick taste tells us we won't be disappointed.

Awesome friendly place, took forever to order and had many questions and the homie taking my order was constantly polite and got my four complicated orders totally correct. Met Bobo in the window and he was younger than we expected (conspiracy theories followed), and I asked him what made his fried chicken so fine. He said “what doesn’t make it fine?” Which is a pretty boss answer I guess but I was hoping for something a little better (next time Bobo). Everything was amazing, highly recommended. So awesome to see a local fried chicken fast food place!!

What a amazing find!! Is it cheap fried chicken? No, but is completely free of hormones; brined and battered over 2 days prior to cooking and completely homemade. The sides taste homemade because they are- and they are delicious! We got the kale slaw, macaroni and cheese; and mashed potatoes - all delicious. As you can see from my photo - the cornbread was already partially consumed in the car on the way home... yummy 😋

A great local spot right across the street from the Bay. It prides itself for only serving homemade and local food to its customers (us).
The fried chicken is always great and tender. The chicken sandwich is definitely more flavorful than a chick fil a sandwich thanks to the amazing pickles and bobo sauce, but not as consistent. The salad is always light, healthy and fresh which is perfect for a lower calorie option.
I always get the ice tea, but beware it is very sweet, normally half in sweet with a lemon is perfect.
The biggest downside about the place is the wait. If you are in a rush it

The food was OK, very pricey for the amount of food given. I had biscuits and gravy with fries and a coffee. I liked it, it was seasoned. There wasn’t anything special about it other than the biscuit was square. The apple juice was very good and was recommended by the worker and different reviews. We went through the drive-thru which was nice because it was early and I didn’t really feel like getting out of the car. I’m not sure what I was expecting going here but I had an open mind. What threw me off the most was the price. We spent $21 on a breakfast sandwich, biscuits and gravy, one side
