Bodywork/massage philosophy: Alex loves to receive massage as much as he loves to provide it for others, he believes that in order to be a good healer you have to know what it feels like to give as well as receive and this applies to all aspects of his life including his healing touch. I combine Deep Tissue, Trigger point, Hot stone, Swedish flow & Thai Massage techniques.
We have developed the Ohm Signature Massage over the course of several years. We believe the unique blend of massages styles that it offers is the ULTIMATE way to both relax, and heal our valued clients. Oils used are speciality blended CBD oil. Muay Thai is an ancient martial art that originated in Thailand, but has become one of the world's most practiced martial arts.

I've now worked with both Alex and Vanessa, and I can definitely say they are both fantastic. They are super empathetic and listen to both you and your body to help you find relief. I've gone in for a deep tissue massage and more recently an "office syndrome" massage - focusing on the neck, head, and shoulders to help with sitting at a desk all day. Definitely recommended - I'll need to do that one on a regular basis!

Every time I come to Ohm I leave excited to come back. The location is convenient and cozy, and everything I need in a massage facility. Vanessa is one of the most talented masseuses I've had and is perfect at working troubled areas while making the whole experience a luxurious treat.

Best place to get a massage! No frills, all pressure (if that's what you like). I've had multiple sessions with Vanessa and she is able to get all the knots out. You feel amazing afterwards! Ive recommended her to multiple people and they feel the same way. I've been to Alex as well, and he is equally great!!

Anyways Alex was great! The massage consisted a lot of slow stretching of the muscles. This is a funny comparison, but I felt like a tube of toothpaste. Alex made sure to ask where he wanted me to focus on, at the time I just said general body and then if he feels any tension.
I love that I was offered tea at the beginning and end of the session. That really set the mood and helped me relax.

Got a great Thai massage here from Vanessa. Later evening appointments (8pm) are available which works for long workdays. I got a bunch of kinks worked out and muscle tension released and much needed stretching. The room was enclosed and seemed private and clean. We kept our masks on and they check vax cards and temp beforehand. You can book via classpass or directly on their website. Location is on Market St in the Castro just inside a mall. It's not too far off the street mall entrance.

Booked for a 60-minute traditional Thai massage/Thai aromatherapy massage several times now - been with both Alex and Vanessa! Thai massage is definitely different in that it requires gentle pressure and lots of stretching to relax the whole body. The space is very clean, calming, and both Alex & Vanessa were so kind and accomodating from the moment I stepped into the room.
I was always asked what areas of my body needed more focus - it's always my back. I've been dealing with some pain in my back/spine for a week or so now and let me tell you... spending time with Alex the other

Vanessa is a god send. This was my first ever massage so I didn't really know what to expect but I know for sure I will be going here more often. I did something to my upper traps from exercising and my posture but Vanessa was able to loosen all the tense muscles. She worked very diligently and listened to every crack and tense area of my neck / upper back. Everytime she went over a tense area, she would focus on loosen that area and I could tell she was really good at reading and listening to my body and how it was responding. I cannot wait to come back again!! 10/10 for Vanessa!!!

I had a massage with Vanessa and it was amazing. Before she started the session, she asked me where I want her to focus and she did put more work on the areas I mentioned. Not to mention, she found knots that I didn't know they were existing and broke them down. I will definitely be back and schedule another session with her!

I got a 60 minute deep tissue/trigger point massage from Vanessa. I was very impressed by her skillset and strength. I prefer stronger pressure and it was great. She used a technique where she walked on my back and (I think) used her feet and elbows simultaneously. Before starting the massage Vanessa asked how she could help me, what my needs were and how much pressure I preferred. That meant a lot to me and I really felt heard and seen. I will definitely be coming back.

After a long-distance flight in cramped seating, I scheduled a 1 ½ hour deep-tissue massage. My only regret is I didn’t make it a 2-hour session. In advance, Alex asked what I needed addressed. I received what I can only describe as the most attentive, relaxed, muscle-releasing, Zen experience I could have hoped for. Alex is an amazing practitioner and I recommend him highly.

I just had a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Alex and it was absolutely one of the very best! I came in with a severe tension knot and now it's gone! I felt great after the massage but he asked if there was any more pain at checkout. When I said there was still a little he had me sit and he worked out the remaining pain. I feel fantastic! Vanessa is incredibly warm, communicative, and easy to chat with. She listens to your needs and targets exactly what you ask for. I've never gotten the knots so thoroughly worked out of my hands before. Pleasantly surprised by the hot stones, hot towels, and several wonderful scents.

Alex is awesome! Just like other reviewers said he's really intuitive with touch! Also totally open to feedback and direction if you want the pressure to be firmer or less. I will definitely be coming back. Before the session be offered me tea or water. The whole vibe was super chill. I'm so happy they're reopened! I have tmj/shoulder tension & it really helped me loosen that up!! Alex just has a really calm demeanor too. I never realized how much that helps but it really does !! Thank you so much Alex & ohm!! I came in the afternoon on a weekday and parking on the Castro

Vanessa asked me what I wanted her to focus on and I was pretty specific about how my hips and calves needed some extra love. Vanessa read my body like a freakin' X-ray. She was incredible at working into all the right creaks and bumps and at the right pressure. It was one of the few massages where I was able to switch off the to do list running in my mind and just get lost in the feeling.
I will for sure be back. So glad I might have found my SF massage place!

I did a 60 minute deep tissue / trigger point massage with Alex, and I'm in heaven! I enjoy my fair share of massages, frequenting places across the east bay to tend to my extremely tough back, shoulder and peck muscles.
One try and seriously Alex is the best. He has a great intuitive touch to tend to particular areas with just the right amount of pressure (whereas some massage therapists are just going through the motions).
Price is very reasonable, ambiance is beautiful and relaxing. Great Covid protocols (they wiped down the door right after I entered, for example).

Alex gives the best massages hands down, and I don’t say that lightly as I have had hundreds of massages from various countries. He is the only masseuse I trust to give my back true relief. His pressure is magnificent and he really listens to your needs and works tirelessly on the areas of concern. He has a calm and professional demeanor, and has cultivated a calming atmosphere.
I can guarantee anyone who visits Alex will be a loyal customer. Even though I’ve moved out of the city, I still make the drive up just for his massages!

I've been meaning to leave Alex a super stellar review for his little massage studio that is inconspicuously tucked away in this small shopping plaza in the heart of the Castro (you have no idea how many times I missed the entrance after getting out of my Uber!).
I've been seeing Alex for everything from deep tissue massages to more traditional Thai stretching and massage work. Alex actually helped me resolve my lower back pain with the help of some PT exercises as well as his point-specific massage over the affected area earlier this year.

I had been looking for a new Thai massage place since we moved away from SoMA a few years ago. I discovered Ohm via Classpass. I didn't have high expectations but was super impressed by Alex. He is a very seasoned and trained CMA.
My massage was awesome and I am super happy that I now have another option to add to my self-care routine!
