Founded by former pro football player, master trainer, and kettlebell expert Forest Vance in 2009. We specialize in helping people in their mid-to-late 30's, 40's, 50's, and beyond, who want personalized attention to reach their fitness goals in the fastest and safest way possible. Our team members are different, with varied styles and backgrounds, but what is consistent is that all of them are professional, knowledgeable, and inspirational.

Forest started FVT Boot Camp and Personal Training in 2009. After his pro football career ended, he lost 64 pounds in seven months, changed his life, and was motivated to help others do the same.
Jerry says: I have been doing fitness/workouts nearly all my life. Due to some medical issues and the medication I have been on I have out of it for a couple years and went downhill fast! I joined FVT as an online ZOOM client when the COVID-19 epidemic hit and I could not attend my usual gym. I have been immensely pleased with the work outs, nutrition advice, and I am reaching my goals. Basically, I get to work out in my guest room where I don't have to worry about coming into contact with other gym members.
Forest and his team are super friendly, helpful, and for me, it's been an excellent experience. I strongly recommend this gym.

Over 7 years later and I still give FVT 5 stars. I am currently signed up for their online workout program and it has been amazing! Groups are small and it's almost like being in the gym. Forest knows his clientele and provides personalized coaching during the online sessions. I am motivated to keep up with the workouts because of the personalized nature of the coaching...it is not like the big zoom workouts where you may be one of MANY participants. This keeps me accountable to my workouts. He is also offering in person small group workouts at this moment and releases recorded sessions for

My husband and I are working with Donald at FVT. He is patient, provides excellent, detailed, instruction and is helping us to achieve our fitness goals. The truth is, we're middle aged, love to eat good food, and we both need more lean body mass to compliment our discriminating appetites lol. FVT is the perfect solution. Thanks guys, you're awesome.

I was looking for a challenge and variety in my workouts. This place offers that and much more! I look forward to the high intensity workouts and feel great afterwards. Forest and the staff are personable and motivating. They'll help you achieve whatever fitness goals you have and then push you further. Who knows, maybe I'll train for a Spartan race next year with them!

It’s a very expensive body weight training program. If you want more than just body weigh training, you will have to pay more. I was paying over $160/mo to train only two times per week. With a 3mo commitment. Not worth it. Coaches were cool though.

I cannot believe this guy is a trainer! Rude, arrogant, and completely uneducated! He acts like he is a fitness expert, but it's a complete falicy, as he is not even in shape, and the workouts are simple and not specific to your needs or goals. It's a get in a line, and rotate around to the crappy, stinky "stations" he obviously copied from an Internet site. The place smells soo terrible, it's unorganized, and the equipment is very cheap. Like Wal-Mart stuff I could set up in my garage. This is not a gym, and for the exorbanent amount of money you pay, you should get personal

As a physician, I have some expertise at rating the trainers I've had through the years. I'm pretty fussy when I choose and do not put up with people who don't know their physiology. I would put Forest at the top of the group.

I've been going to FVT for almost a year and a half now and I can't imagine not being a part of this awesome place! Forest and his team are always making you feel welcomed and pushing you to keep going, which is what you need during a tough workout. There's been so many times when I thought "there's no way I can do that" at the beginning of a workout, and I end up kicking butt and feeling great afterwards. I HATE when I have to miss a class that I signed up for. Even if I'm feeling too tired to go, I always leave feeling energized!

Forest Vance is an experienced trainer that has built this facility from sweat and tears. He started with passion and drive doing fitness bootcamps in a park and as he built up loyal clients he grew this thing… through several smaller locations to get here. He knows what he is doing and he truely cares about you. FVT has everything possible in a modern fitness, and all of it comes with personal and individual attention. FVT covers it all, from exercise bootcamps and weight loss, classic powerlifting, Saturday morning bootcamps, and cutting edge stuff like RKC, TRX, and sandbag training.

"Annnnnnd TIME!" -Forest
I have found that going to Bootcamp with Forest twice a week is my self-care. When I miss a class, I am upset! It is addicting...in a good way. I always leave feeling better about myself after working so hard in class. Forest makes class fun with: 1. fun music. 2. Different routines and circuit training every class so it does not get boring. 3. He's funny. 4. It is allowed in class to make loud "in pain" noises and no one laughs at you.
I have found that I can run longer without it hurting after doing Forest's class for a few months. My friend touched my arm recently

FVT is the place to train! My wife and have been going here for a little over two years and we love it! Overall our health is better and we are both a lot stronger and fit then we were before we started! We are progressing each class! Love the trainers, staff and people we workout with! Forest has done a great job in training and motivation to keep us coming back for more! No matter your fitness level, Forest and his trainers will push you and help reach your goals! I moved here to Sacramento from Canada about 2 1/2 yrs ago. I spent the first 3 months visiting personal trainers, small group training, garage gyms, yoga studios... you name it. I was searching for a place where when I walked in the feeling was - Yep, this is where I belong. Forest & his wife and trainers are AWESOME! I was coerced into joining their 30 day rapid fat loss bootcamp program by my friend Carolyn, at the last minute, and SO glad I did! Yes, it can be brutal, Yes, I was on a strict 1200 calorie/day meal plan, but the results have been amazing! In 30 days, I dropped nearly 12lbs, but cheated a couple days and ended up -10lbs at the end of the 30 day challenge, and lost 2 inches in waist, nearly 3% body fat, and several inches in legs and chest as well. It's a fun but productive environment, everyone in the classes are good people, the music is good

I've just started training here. The facility is clean, comfortable and welcoming. I feel confident about my journey with Forest and his staff. I am an almost 60-something and would recommend Forest Vance Training to anyone who is sitting on the couch, wondering if they can regain their mobility and fitness.

Growing up I never thought I'd get into shape. My defeatist attitude combined with sheer laziness made me pack on the pounds over the years. With my 30th birthday approaching I decided to make a change - and I'm so glad that I did! I changed my diet and lost a bit of weight and then I discovered Forest's studio. I've been training with him for a year and I've lost 60 pounds, dropped my body fat percentage from 30% to 14% and have changed my life forever. He is attentive, supportive, tough enough and doesn't let me get away with bad form! What I love about working out

Forest is amazing! I knew nothing about Kettlebells and thought the boot camps would be too hard but gave it a try. Forest makes everyone feel at ease right away. He is knowledgeable, encouraging, kind and has a sense of humor! Forest also is very accommodating when scheduling classes or makeup appointments. If you miss your class he will call you :) His classes are never boring and they are challenging but so worth it. I'm already making a lot of progress and it's all because of Forest. I can't say enough good things about him and the way he runs his business.

Forest Vance is an amazing trainer: personable, capable, and an amazing motivator and coach. I had the pleasure of working with Forest for five months. During that time, I saw immense changes in strength, definition, and a definite reduction in weight. Forest's personal training sessions are intense, focused, and effective. Group works are both enjoyable and effective, combining bodyweight and weighted movements. As kettlebell instructor, there is no one better than Forest.

I was so impressed with Forest's workouts, attitude, and dedication to his clients that I chose to continue

Just noticed the other day how easy carrying a 5-gallon water jug into the house is for me now or that I'm at top of the fifth flight of stairs before I'm noticing the effort...after years or hiking and yoga, adding strength workouts has actually made a big impact.

Forest also provides solid and useful health, nutrition and training advice by email and his web content...just enough to keep you engaged and encouraged. As beginner who was looking for a simple weight-training program, it was important to me that I find a trainer who could break things down and teach me the basics. Forest is patient with me and clearly explains how to do each exercise and the purpose behind everything we were doing. His extensive knowledge of physical training, especially kettlebell drills, makes me feel comfortable trying new exercises.
