Westwood Animal Hospital
Our mission is to provide high quality medical and surgical care to our patients while striving to exceed our client's expectations by treating all pets as if they were our own. We want our clients to know it is our priority to provide the finest veterinary care to our patients and it is our goal to assure that you, the owner, are well informed and comfortable with the decisions made regarding your pets care.

Westwood Animal Hospital was established in 1979 by Dr. John Sanders. In 1980, Westwood welcomed the addition of Dr. Pat Hall. After working as a veterinary technician during undergraduate studies at TCC and FSU, Dr. Mike Pridgeon returned to Westwood and joined the veterinary team after graduation from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.
Services
The doctors and staff of Westwood Animal Hospital are concerned about the health and well being of our patients and their families. Puppies and kittens should be examined soon after birth and dewormed every 2 weeks until 6-8 weeks of age. At this age, vaccinations and a monthly parasite prevention program are started.
All cats should be vaccinated to help prevent harmful and potentially life-threatening diseases. The types of vaccines your cat should be given will vary based on the life style of your cat. If your cat lives in the house and does not come into contact with other cats, only the basic vaccines are necessary.
We routinely provide a wide array of surgical procedures in our office. Some of these procedures include: ovariohysterectomy (spay), castration (neuter), mass removal, bladder stone removal, Cesarean section, intestinal and stomach surgery, abdominal exploratory and "cherry eye" repair. Our office is equipped with modern surgical and anesthetic equipment so that we can provide excellent care for your pet.
Most of our canine and feline patients over the age of one year have some build up of dental calculus and tartar. During the annual comprehensive physical examination, our doctors will evaluate the teeth and determine if and when a dental cleaning is necessary. All patients will have preanesthetic bloodwork evaluated prior to dental cleaning.
Fleas and ticks can cause discomfort, itchiness, and allergic skin disease. The chance that your pet may get fleas or ticks depends on where you live and the environment around you. Fleas thrive in warmer weather, but may go dormant during the winter in colder areas. Ticks tend to live in wooded areas or areas with high grass.

Worst experience in a lifetime of owning animals. Dishonest. These people not only treated my animals and myself horribly and disrespectfully, they sent me to collections when they owe me $40. Now I have to fight them in court. Trust me, you don’t want to deal with these people. A nightmare. Total scam artists who couldn’t care less about your pet in an emergency. So many other good vets around. These people will do absolutely nothing to correct their egregious errors and they will kill your pets maliciously.

This clinic is the worst in Tallahassee. They charge 6 times the price for prescriptions than chewy dot com does and they rip people off as much as they can. If you go here, get a written prescription and fill it elsewhere, they like to rob disabled people with service animals and call disabled people names, abuse the animals and are extremely unprofessional. I have to sue this awful clinic now for destroying my dog.

Absolutely by far the WORST vet clinic in Tallahassee. They delete all negative reviews to cover up their mistreatment of pets AND customers and their rampant fraud. The people at this clinic are so busy trumping up baloney charges to send you to collections for (fraud) that they won’t take care of your animal in an emergency. This clinic treats disabled veterans absolutely atrociously. I am appalled at their unprofessionalism, total disregard for suffering animals and illegal practices meant to harm service animals. There are plenty of good vet practices here in Tallahassee. Save yourself the

I cannot recommend Westwood Animal Hospital enough!! We take our golden retriever puppy there and he’s been going since he was 8 weeks. He loves everyone in that office, especially the wonderful vet techs. They’re always available to answer any questions you have over the phone, as well. I attached a photo to show just how much our pup loves the techs there. We just started taking our rescue there and he loved it as well. Their offices are clean and very nice. Dr. Hall is so knowledgeable and kind, you can tell he has a passion for what he does. Not to mention their prices are the best in town

Been our vets for years through both cats and dogs. We are now dog people. Good curbside pick up and mask wearing.
