We represent a broad range of community associations.

They include condominium associations under the Unit Owner Act, the Condominium Act of 1976, and Common Interest Owner Act, association of planned communities created under the Common Interest Ownership Act, homeowners and property owners associations formed under the common law, cooperatives, lake associations, pond associations, beach associations, tax districts, and special services districts.
Michael Feldman has been practicing in the area of civil litigation since his admission to practice in 1981. In 1994 he became board certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Feldman was selected to Connecticut Super Lawyers* for business litigation in 2007. He has tried many cases and successfully represented clients in a wide variety of complex business, insurance, condominium and personal injury matters.
Since joining our firm, Jonathan R. Chappell has worked with approximately 150 community associations, condominium and planned communities, advising about transition to unit owner control; general governance and operational issues; insurance concerns, collections and foreclosures of the priority lien or protection of the lien during mortgage foreclosures or unit owner bankruptcies; determination of whether the association or unit owner is responsible for maintenance; document interpretation and amendment; enforcement procedures; the review, drafting, negotiation of contracts proposed to an association; and closing association loans.
Our lawyers have prepared documentation for nearly 100 condominiums and planned communities throughout Connecticut for developers of common interest communities. The communities range from two units to hundreds of units. While most of the communities are residential, some are commercial. Our experience includes the following.
