Before I started coming to UA, I was pretty burned out from the regular gym routine and I was feeling like my fitness and motivation had reached a plateau. After being a part of Urban Athlete, I am overall more motivated and more fit. The ever-changing variety of workouts keeps me interested and challenged.

I have been working out for decades and belonged to many gyms from national chains to smaller local places like Urban Athlete. This is hands down the best gym I have ever belonged to. Expert programming and varied workouts. Knowledgeable, friendly coaches who actively pay attention and provide guidance-they don't just stand there. A wonderful and welcoming Mt.-Airy-chill-vibe sense of community. Works for all ages and fitness levels-though your fitness will increase, quickly. Highest possible recommendation-five stars is not enough.

Cannot say enough about this place. I joined this year(2020) when they started offering outdoor workouts in July. The owner, Pamela, has made a huge investment to adapt the gym to the current COVID-19 safety requirements imposed by the city. She really has gone above and beyond to keep us safe and healthy.
I have been attending the group workouts as well as the small group personal training. After stopping most exercise with the shutdown, I had an uphill battle to lose my quarantine belly. I was really impressed with how quickly Pamela and Ryan were able to get me back on track and meet my 2020

Great classes, equipment, and coaches. Everyone has been very nice and welcoming, which is good enough for me as someone who gets intimidated by gym rats. Now I'm a gym rat too 😊

I've been a member of Urban Athlete for almost a year now. I love this gym and highly recommend it! I live in Mount Airy, and enjoy having a small local gym that I can jog to. The classes are more boot camp style than crossfit. Pamela, the owner, develops a daily workout that each of the Urban Athlete classes does the same that day. Each class includes a 10 minute warm up, 5 minutes of instruction, followed by 30-35 minutes of work. We use a lot of hand weights, kettle bells, and occasionally barbells. There are also plenty of body weight exercise like burpees, pushups, pull ups, and planks

What can I say about UA other than it is best gym EVER! I have definitely been one of those people who gets bored with working out and going to the gym but not at Urban Athlete. Pamela and her crew of instructors always have interesting and intense work-outs planned each day. The small class sizes make working out so much fun and the instructors are always willing to give helpful tips and recommend new exercises if you need. The open gyms are great as they allow you to work out when you want. Above everything, this is the first gym that I have joined where I feel a true sense of camaraderie with

I'm giving them one star because they never answer their phone or return phone calls. I called three times, left two messages over a period of three days, nothing. I guess they want you to come in to find out more about them, but why have a phone number if you don't use it? Since they tout themselves as being a different kind of gym I wanted to know why they feel that way and how their rates work. With all the great reviews I read, I was intrigued. Oh well, I guess I'll never know unless I go over there.

I have been working out here for years. Great local gym. I have recommended them for years. Phenomenal classes for all levels. I love doing kettlebell workouts, and also the barbell class. The owner Pamela is an awesome teacher and so are the coaches. The accountability and the other gym members make it worth every penny.

I love this gym! I have worked out there for years. The staff treats everyone as family. In other gyms I have gone to, you can go for months and never speak to a soul, this place has a community vibe. The workouts involve your whole body, so you get fit really fast. It is a great value because of the quick results and education you receive about technique!!!

I have been working out at UA since it opened. Great atmosphere and really caring knowledgable staff. The sense of community is what separates them from another gym. Worth every penny. I recommend them to everyone and I will never go back to a "regular gym"

I recently moved to Philadelphia from New Jersey. That move ended up separating me from my prior gym and I needed somewhere to work out. As I searched around on the Internet, Urban Athlete came up as one of the standout local choices. I figured I would give it a shot. I set up a trial workout that really ended up being more of a baseline physical administered by the boss. It was tough, sweaty, and straightforward. But I wasn't totally bowled over. I've been pushing myself for quite some time. I figured I would join up on Feb. 1st and see how things worked out.

Let me offer a little

Its not so much a gym, but a lifestyle. Ever want to work so hard you throw up? Want to train like a Army Ranger. Want to stop wasting time walking on a treadmill? Go see Jason and Pamela at Crossfit Philly.

There is nothing that compares to this work out. Its hard to explain, so call them and they'll let you try a class for free. Afterward, you'll either be hooked or vomiting in the alley, or maybe both.
