The feeling after working out here is amazing! You leave feeling brand new and looking forward to your next visit. Not just all their equipment and environment but the staff working here makes you feel comfortable and safe. They are very kind and caring. This is the place you workout to stay strong and keep smiling!

!! UPDATING !! my review-
the manager or business owner below seems to have mistaken me for someone else----- I never had any interaction with this person - so whatever he stated below does not apply to me --------- I am still a member but considering switching to another gym -----------

Having said that, Healthworks is not a "small business"........ and again, I agree with the many 1 star review about poor customer service.

All you need to do is read all the 1star reviews here and you will see they are ALL about the same issues:
- poor customer service
-rudeness
- yelling staff

Updating my review after direct feedback from the owner, Mark. I appreciated getting my feedback heard on their promotion and how to make it clearer for future customers. Thank you for directly reaching out and making an attempt to implement and improve systems within your team after a negative experience.

I overall love this gym. I just wish they had more female trainers. Several times I have observed male trainers take over half the weights area, check out the behinds of woman working out, and it really defeats the purpose of a woman's only gym.

I would give zero stars if I could. Horrible people who work here, so rude and inconsiderate. Even when I was going to the gym pre-covid I never had a good experience with the front desk. I just called to cancel and got absolutely yelled at on the phone, they wanted me to pay another billing cycles worth to cancel even though I had mistakenly been charged for the last one. She was rude, condescending, and just mean. I'm sorry I can't afford to pay another $100 to cancel but I don't think that means I need to be belittled. Avoid this gym at all costs.

Pretty expensive for a gym but I guess that's to be expected due to location. I've been going to this gym for about a year and definitely had some interesting hiccups along the way. I work in an office setting and typically go to the Back Bay location in Boston during my lunch hour. One day they announced that the water was being turned off in 5 minutes, as I'm dripping sweat in the middle of a workout. After racing to get in the shower, the water does turn off halfway through. The staff brought us bottles of water to finish getting soap out of our hair....

The facilities are beautiful, the environment is clean, and group fitness classes are good. However, this Boston and you can find that in a dozen gyms across the city. One star because of staff and administration. I attempted to cancel my membership over the phone because my work schedule has changed and it’s been very difficult for me to make use of the gym. I was informed that I need to make a trip in, in person to cancel. I attempted to discus with staff how this was an inconvenience and they continued to insist that the only way I can cancel is in person. Completely unacceptable. Would not

This gym is an absolute joke. The equipment is old, the weight selection is poor and they seem to actually discourage women from doing any serious lifting. I was told to stop "slamming" weights when I was simply re-racking because it was "disruptive", meanwhile some other woman was repeatedly slamming a medicine ball on the ground. Wouldn't recommend to anyone who wants to actually lift weights.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I tried to cancel my membership due to medical reasons and management made it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to do so.
They did not accommodate my schedule and asked to go in person to the facility, when I did after work it turns out that none of the management member was available or present to help with my cancellation. I tried calling after my surgery and left voicemail and sent emails and the general manager or anyone go back to after several follow ups. All this, while still getting charged $49.99 (weekly). They have proved how incompetent this administrative team is due to lack

Let me tell you, this is a fantastic gym. For the price, it offers the best amenities. There are 2 floors - the first floor has the reception desk, a large studio for aerobic/cardio classes, a yoga studio, a smoothie bar, and a boat load of cardio machines; the second floor has an extremely large and well-equipped locker room (hairdryer, feminine products, towels, lockers for anyone to use), a spin studio, and floor space for personal training with additional strength machines and free weights. In my opinion, the locker room itself is well worth the price. I signed up during a promotion where I

I've been a newbie at Healthworks for a month now, and I honestly love it. Prior to joining I would come in with ClassPass and used all my credits to come in, because I loved the community and the amenities Healthworks offers. The gym itself is women only which make it a comfortable environment to work out in, for me personally. There's a good amount of space and plenty of equipment. The locker room is spacious and gorgeous and it's always super tidy. It's also easy to get ready for work after a gym sesh in the AM or if I'm doing anything later that day- hair, makeup

Their business model is designed to make you regret for signing up at the first place. Once you want to cancel your membership, they make it super difficult for you (having to go to their facility to sign paperwork), plus make you pay for an extra month, even if you give your notification ahead of the next billing cycle. When I complained about their policies, instead of apologizing for the inconvenience (and ripping off!), they said they were making me a favor, because the original policy is to pay 2 additional months after you give your notice.
Plus, the changing rooms smell really bad, like

I really love going to an all women's gym. I've been a member for almost 3 years now and can't imagine going anywhere else.

Like any gym, it's typically pretty crowded in the mornings and immediately after work but its never prevented me from having a good workout. I've never stood around waiting to use a cardio machine, and in the rare instance that someone is using a weight lifting machine I need, they're always happy to share between sets. The locker room also gets a little jammed in the morning but once again, its never made me late for work. There's plenty

I have been a member for over 18 months and really appreciate the community created at Healthworks. It is a very accepting place to learn, and become your best.

The facilities are pretty clean, although the locker rooms gets very crowded in the morning around 8am and that can get messy. Also, the fitness class schedule does not change often, especially if you're there for morning classes..those ones seem to rotate the least.

Katie is the best instructor! Any class she does is always great.

Overall nice experience, and nice community.

I feel that I am better fit (Hah!) to write this review, a year after I cancelled my membership at this gym and tried out other gyms in the area.

Signing up: I signed up with the gym while I was in graduate school and was able to get a bit of a discount for getting the membership during a promotion, being a student, and bringing another friend with me. It still is a bit more expensive than what you might pay for at other gyms in the city, but I felt that it was reasonable, if not generous, of them to offer me the price that they did. The membership also came with 1 free massage and 1 free personal

I wanted to love Back Bay but could not.. I have been going to the Coolidge Corner Healthworks for 4 years now and love EVERYTHING about it. A few months ago I moved and the Back Bay HW became the closer gym to me so I started going here. All I can say is - this gym is nothing in comparison to the Coolidge Corner location. The cleanliness and upkeep of this gym is almost non existing. There is never a time I have gone into the locker room and felt comfortable. There is constantly dirty towels thrown everywhere, open protein bar wrappers, etc. I all together stopped using the bathrooms because

Beautiful gym with outstanding amenities, decent classes, friendly staff, women-only. Have gone to Pilates, Press, Step and Reformer intro. This is likely one of the best gyms I've been to (not a gym rat and not a runner), impressed with the quality of gym classes. Tons of cardio machines, separate warm up areas, yoga studio and large group fitness room for classes. Classes are quite full and the most popular ones require advance ticketing and often book out.

The amenities can't be beat. Sauna, hot tub, full towel service, toiletries, plenty of showers, mirrors/counter space, rooms of

Okay! Time for a review of an awesome place for us ladies.

I joined about a month and a half ago. I hadn't been to a gym or joined a membership in eons and I finally decided to commit. Erica, a membership manager, helped me out. She walked me through the entire process and gave me a tour. She even gave me a breakdown on what the membership includes and the perks as well. There are a few different packages to choose from.

The location is super convenient, located in Copley Square and very close to the orange and green lines. It's on my way home and just perfect. I pop in after work

Joined the gym about a month ago and fell in love very classy and upscale, My favorite classes are body pump, straight up strength. Jen at the front desk is always greeting you with a nice smile an a little small talk. Say no to planet fitness, and yes to health works if you wish to accomplish your fitness goals.
