I live at Birchwood and this is a great place to live. Gio the maintenance man is a great human and always willing to go the extra mile. Cindy the manager is also exceptional đź‘Ź

I lived here for three years as a post-grad. Square-footage to price is not bad, but you aren't getting luxury. If you're cool with a vibe that isn't super modern but is still decently maintained, it should work for you. The basement units have unattractive white tile floors while the first and second floor units have hardwood floors. Basement units are cheaper for that reason. Washer and dryer are not in-unit, but there is a laundry room in the complex. However, there is only one for the whole complex, so it may be in a different building from your apartment.

After four years here I can definitively state your experience here is determined by the quality of the people living around you rather than the state of the apartments or management. So long as you keep your apartment clean management will not bother you. They are prompt about making repairs when you report issues and they don't try anything sneaky with charges.
The apartments are rather old and can go through a lot of wear and tear from year to year depending on who is living there, so do not be surprised by peeling paint, scuffed floors, and drafty windows. I think the worst part of the apartment

There is often nobody in the office, even during their advertised hours. I came by the other day and the mailman had left several packages outside the office. I came back a few hours later and they were still there, meaning no workers were present all afternoon. Its frustrating because I'll come by to get a package from inside the office, and can't. Often there is a group of residents waiting outside because they put up a sign saying "be right back".

Total waste. It is soo far from the bus stop, in winter it takes forever to reach Scott hall. Very dangerous neighborhood, with lots of criminal activities around. Also, there is very poor cellular connection inside the houses. Don't you dare to stay here.

The office manager is rude & unprofessional and always closes the office before 5 pm. If you need to stop by at 4:45 for any particular reason, don’t count on it because I’ve never seen the office close after 4:30 or open at 9. The apartment has bugs and the “WiFi” that they advertise is practically non existent. Also, anyone saying it’s in the safest area of NB was clearly being asked to write a review because it’s by one of the less safe parts.

This place is awesome and friendly to international students.
It is located at one of the safest area in New Brunswick, plus there are many surveillance cameras installed. So safety is not really an issue here, as long as you don't go out alone too late.
Maintenance guys respond quick and are always helpful.
Cons:
Floor in some apartments is squeaky.
If your neighbors are party type, it will get noisy in the living room. However it is hard to hear any noise from the bedrooms.
