Given the complex tapestry that is our lives and history, care that focuses on the individual is necessary. Pain and discomfort can seriously impact our quality of life. Our bodies are stories of who we are, what we have done and where we have been. When I look at your postural alignment, I see the possibilities of how you can move freely and with more comfortable.

It is the combination of bodywork, movement, fitness and ergonomics that compliments the complexities of who we are. This gives us a wholeness to healing that is individualized and works specifically for you. Your every day habits and activities play a significant role in how your body functions. Understanding HOW you do the things you do, points us in the direction of where you want to be.

At 17, I suffered from debilitating shin splints that lasted over 5 years. I tried many forms of health care without relief. I then heard about Aston-Patterning, and I could walk with very minimal pain immediately after my first session. This not only saved my life as a teenager, it reshaped how I looked at life.
Interpreting where your pain is coming from is the first step to uncovering ways to move with comfort and ease and reducing chronic discomfort. By combining bodywork and movement we can work together on finding more relief and support in your daily life. Release discomfort, enhance your performance and move with freedom.
If you want to discover the possibilities of your own movement, reduce the aging process and take home exercises to correct discomfort, then this class is for you. Space is limited so do not miss this opportunity. Because each class builds off the last, you need to start at the beginning. If you are unable to make one class due to illness or emergency, you can make it up in a private 30 minute session or make other arrangements.
Each bodywork and movement session will address your specific needs, goals and interest. There are many components including massage, postural evaluation, movement education, fitness training and environmental modification (ie: office chairs and car seats). Each session will follow a basic five-step outline with many possibilities described below.
When you book an appointment for a Bodywork & Movement session, or just a movement session it is best to wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in. Examples include shorts and a T-shirt or exercise clothes.

If you have booked a Spiraling Relaxation Massage, you can wear whatever you want because you will be taking your clothes off as you would normally in a traditional massage (of course you will be fully covered by sheets and blankets).Generally speaking, I recommend you come in for 4 sessions with the first 2 sessions only 1 week apart.
