We have over 50 years of experience and up-to-date equipment; we can maintain, diagnose, and fix any automotive concern.

Long over due review but this shop is my favorite auto shop to go to. Although I've only been there twice, both times I left completely satisfied with not only the efficient service, but his polite way of clearly explaining everything to me. Unfortunately we had our catalytic converter stolen and we needed it resolved. Called a few shops before we called Luis and didn't feel comfortable with the responses I was getting. When I spoke to Luis he was welcoming, honest and upfront. He made it clear he needed to see the car before he could quote a price. We left the car and in a few hours we had a detailed quote with everything that needed to be done via email,text and a phone call. He kept us updated and the car was ready for pick up, the day they said. Felt good about the transaction and the car felt great. I would definitely trust

This is the neighborhood mechanic you want working on your cars. Not only is Luis a very honest guy, I've had him look after a few of my cars for years. Like with all mechanics, having a little working knowledge of automotive engineering, goes a very long way. So, if you can point them to the areas of things to fix, they'll be handled flawlessly. For background, he worked on a 99 4Runner, a 66 Mustang, and my friends old Cougar.

I have never made a negative comment on yelp but in this situation this place rubbed me the wrong way and I don't appreciate being scammed. I work hard for my money and it's just not ok to be taken advantage. If I can select no stars I would. If you want to overpay this is the place!!!!! Prior to coming here I had taken my car to get a smog check and they told me my car needed the catalytic fixed otherwise was not going to pass. So, my husband seeing the great reviews decided to take the car here. The first issue I had was they charge a consult fee of $125???!!! I have been to many mechanics

This shop has been servicing my mom's car for years. I also starting bringing in my mini cooper after the warranty expired. Luis has always been honest and both cars run great after being serviced and/or repaired. I consider his prices to be fair. Could I get better pricing somewhere else? Maybe. I trust Luis and his work so I don't bother looking elsewhere. Luis explains the work that needs to be done in complete detail and I've never felt pressured to agree on any recommendations that I decide to hold off on for budgetary reasons.

WARNING!! Not trustworthy! I used to live nearby and would always come here to get my car serviced for oil changes . When I needed some more major work done I decided to come to what seemed like the local mom and pop business. Well, they installed a non state compliant catalytic converter into my vehicle. My car is now inelligable to pass any smog test. This means I cannot renew my registration unless I pay for the exact same repair again, which is extremely expensive. Not to mention the selling/installing of aftermarket catalytic converters is ILLEGAL. Don't fall for his supposed "friendliness

It can be a challenge to find a knowledgeable, honest auto repair company that deliver and backs their promise. Luis Lopez Automotive is just that. We received exceptional service all-around. It was our first time here and we had our Kia's front brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced. Fast, great communication, respectful, and great work. Will definitely return. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Luis Lopez.
I recently took in a car to him for a Check Engine light. Not only did he keep to the proposed timeline, but he also kept me updated regularly.
He took the time to not only explain to me the strategy for how they were looking to do the repair, but he also was very upfront on what was the most reasonable thing to do. He explains everything to a point that the average person can understand what needs to be done. He is not overly technical.
Luis is an honest mechanic. Straightforward and does not go for the up sale.

Recently had my 07 Dodge Magnum in there for an oil leak repair. Turns out I needed a new oil pan due to another shop damaging the drain bolt threads and repairing it without notifying me. Luis took a look at my car the day I dropped it off and had an estimate ready within a couple hours. When I spoke to him on the phone he was very professional and prepared. I can appreciate this as I am in the motorcycle service industry. He was so on top of it I decided to get a couple additional items like tires, brakes and a transmission service in addition to the oil leak repairs I originally brought it in

His is a review of his attitude as I never got my car looked at. I was asked to bring my car in Tuesday Am so I could have an oil leak checked and come up with a plan to get it fixed before I headed home to san francisco on Saturday. I got there and was told he was a guy short. Ok can I bring it in later? no how about his afternoon? no. Well I'm in kind of a tight spot can you recommend anyone I"m new in town and don't know any shops? no there are plenty of other shops go to one of those.

Having moved from NYC, I just learned how to drive last year and got my first flat tire last week. Luis Lopez Automotive is a professional, easy to work with business. I dealt with Luis himself who has an office where you can go over prices and options. They accept all major credit cards and cash. And while you're waiting you can enjoy the whimsical muffler men that Luis builds himself!
