Prairie Ridge Animal Hospital is proud to serve as your local veterinary clinic in the Wichita, KS area for anything animal related! Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is ran by Dr. Summers, Dr. Paolucci and Dr. Bruce, who are licensed and experienced Wichita veterinarians. Our team is committed to educating our clients on how to keep their pets healthy year round with good nutrition, preventative medicine, and exercise.
We value our clients' experience at Prairie Ridge Animal Hospital. If your pet or animal is currently a patient, please feel free to complete the following Client Experience Questionnaire. The Questionnaire is in Adobe Acrobat format, and requires the free Acrobat Reader to view. When we found Dr. Melanie we had a very sick kitty (Shadow).
We know that being involved in the community and spending the time to educate is very important. That is why the staff at Prairie Ridge Animal Hospital volunteer our time outside of the clinic at several different events throughout the year.

Here at Prairie Ridge Animal Hospital, our goal is to meet your needs and exceed your expectations. We offer several different services and treat a variety of different pets. Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.

Have been coming here for about two years now. We can not recommend it enough. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgable. The team always takes excellent care of our girl, are always communicative and transparent about everything. They really care about your pet, we wouldn’t take our pup anywhere else.

I could not ask for a better team to save my dogs life. From the office front staff to the vets and vet techs I am forever grateful. They removed a large cancer mass from my dogs abdomen and she is a few weeks post op and doing very well. If you are looking for a great team to take care of your fur babies…. Choose this place!!!!

My Griffin has no complaints so I am happy. He doesn't pay the bills so he has no complaints about the price. Prairie Ridge really is an amazing place to take your pet. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable and the facilities is always spotless.

Everyone is very friendly and they take great care of your pet. A little pricey, but the service is wonderful. The only thing I really didn't like was the pushing of certain shots and flea and tick meds. I am capable of getting some of these necessary things at Tractor Supply and doing it myself. Otherwise very happy.

Prairie Ridge is the best! They have created such a good environment that makes you feel like part of the family. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else! They have always been so helpful and honest when it's come to our pet's care. We have been going there pretty much since Dr. Summers opened the place and she has done such an amazing job building the clinic to where it is today. I couldn't recommend them more!

First of all, the staff here are great. However, we are frustrated with the continued nickel-and-dime approach of their business model. Some treatment plans are all-inclusive, which would include any follow-up visits or tests and some are not. Not to mention their pricing is some of the highest in west Wichita. They do take great care of our doodles but their costs are usually more than double of their competitors for the exact same treatments. We are going to look elsewhere as we simply can't justify the increased costs and the ongoing follow-up fees.

So thankful I was referred to Prairie Ridge!! Dr Summers treated our very sick dog. She was so thorough and patient. She took the time to explain in detail the results of blood work and various other tests. She explained all options and costs involved with everything. A very caring, knowledgeable doctor that is supported by an excellent team of employees.

We absolutely LOVE Prairie Ridge. Dr. Summers is not only incredibly nice and caring, she is incredibly knowledgeable and makes it a point to inform you on all of your options without pushing for one over the other. She truly makes it a team sport to care for your animals. They are in the process of expanding their clinic to have some new exam rooms and another Doctor's office.
The facilities are top notch. It isn't the best looking building on the outside, but we were blown away by the inside. While the veterinary assistants were looking after our dog, Dr. Summers showed us around

I came in to get my cat groomed. Olivia Nelson is one of my best friends that told me I would be taken care of and we were both shocked to see how I was actually treated. I felt as if Dr. Bruce wouldn't listen to me when I continued to tell her that Callie had already been to the vet and was being taken care of, she's a 16 year old cat and I didn't want her being poked at any more than necessary. I was charged for a fecal float and didn't even get one done until my THIRD visit. I had to come back a second time because my cat was cut and got stitches during the grooming process

We recently moved to the area and needed to find our fur baby a new vet as it was time for her check up. I am so happy I came across Prairie Ridge! We saw Dr. Simon who went above and beyond examining and explaining her findings to me. The office is very clean inside and out, the rest of the staff is very friendly as soon as you walk in the door. I don't think Izzy will be scared to go to the vet anymore!

This is the best of both worlds the small town feel with the professional quality you want for your animal. I was impressed with the cleanliness of this facility. I was referred her for my dogs ultrasound and the veterinarian that helped me was patient and explained everything on each picture that she snapped of my baby dog. I would recommend this Animal Hospital to any and everyone!

Their prices for vaccinations and examinations are double the price of other Vet Clinics. I called around today to get a quote and could not believe what they charge $170 for my 2 dogs for just yearly vaccinations! Friendly staff on the phone, but I was transferred to another person after explaining I was calling for a price quote, and had to explain again what I was calling for and all of my information a second time.

Wonderful wonderful wonderful. Everyone at Prairie Ridge is friendly and helpful. I brought my pug, Lew, here and after some nasty experiences at previous vets (what dog likes the vet?) I knew he'd be neevous, but he got his check up and was happy as could be, no anxiety or discomfort. I brought him back a little later for surgery on his teeth, and I told them I was leaving town soon. They squeezed me in and were willing and able to work with my budget. I didn't feel pressured or stupid for asking questions and they didn't make me feel like I was wasting their time. I'm so thankful

This is an excellent veterinarian clinic that I highly recommend. So thankful I found them on the west side. Dr. Summers and her staff have made us (and our pets) so comfortable with a loving, caring atmosphere in which there is no doubt that your pets well being comes first.
Over the past 20 years I have experienced 5 different clinics on the west side. I have seen huge overcharges, unnecessary treatments (all to generate additional revenue) and a pompous arrogance from one clinic which made me wish I could have joined my dog and soiled their front lobby. So frustrating!
