Dr. Carter Andrews has spent most of his life here in Idaho and he is grateful to be able to raise his own family here as well. He earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Brigham Young University and his DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing his clinical residency at Washington State University.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.
In your search for a veterinary facility, we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE. A few years ago i took my dog in to get an abscess drained after he got bit by another dog. When i picked my dog up he was bleeding pretty bad and when i asked the vet tech about it, she said it was normal. I took my dog home but after watching him SPATTER blood across the wall when he shook off, i panicked and took him to an emergency vet. He had to go to emergency surgery because he was BLEEDING OUT AND GOING TO DIE. When i called the Bench Animal Hospital about it, they offered to refund a small portion of his original surgery and when i asked for reimbursement

' If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.'
I called before we left to be sure because it's an hour drive. Jolene, who answered the phone was short, irritable, seemed perplexed that I was calling based on what I'd read on the hospital's website. She stated they don't have anyone for walk-ins. Humiliated, I thanked her and said we would try her

When you need an immediate appointment for your pet or 4-legged best friend. The receptionists will turn you away. Their only answer is that they don't have appointments to give out or that they are all booked… out. Even the receptionist at the front desk told me that they've been straight up having to turn pet parents away. Nor do they give recommendations of other good recommendations to other vet clinics within the valley or within Idaho. I don't Recommend Bench Vet with the amount of Rudeness I have been given at the front desk receptionests.

I brought my beardie in for a check up on his tail. Dr. Andrews and his assistant were very compassionate and gentle with him-- I just wish I didn't have to pay $50 to get told what I already knew in a 5min checkup, but it's always nice to have a second opinion, so I guess it's worth it. I have three dogs who for the past couple years have been cared for at Bench Animal Hospital. They have an efficient system in place, offer cost-effective intervention, and the employees are caring and kind with both pets and people. One of my dogs developed a severe condition recently that took many weeks of continued care, finally requiring urgent surgical intervention. Dr. Andrews generously came in on his day off to do the operation. Her condition has resolved and she's back to her happy, healthy self. I had an amazing experience here with my rat! The doctor there was very communicative and he let me know what was happening every step of the way. Explained it so well and told me exactly what the issue was so quick! We have struggled to find good rodent vets in the area and we have lucked out. I went in for an emergency this morning at 7:30 when they opened. The receptionist came in and didn't acknowledge me for almost 5 minutes. She started to ask me questions and placed a clip board on the counter. I made the assumption that I needed to fill it out. Poor customer service especially during an emergency. She then informed me that no doctor will be coming until 9. No empathy toward the situation and then I was coldly informed that WestVet is open. Drove there and was my cat was treated immediately. It was worth the extra drive to Garden City.

There isn't a better vet out there. Last year a neighbor shot our 7 month old hound puppy in the face with a 22. The bullet went in under her bottom lip blowing out some of her bottom teeth and completely destroying her jaw. Dr Andrews and his team saved her life. They took out all of the bullet and bone fragments and made her a brand new jaw out of wire. She's as good as new. We have two hounds and see both Dr. Andrews & Dr. Davis. They offer exemplary veterinary care at an affordable price. Their office isn't the fanciest around and the waiting room is incredibly small. Neither thing matters one bit to me when I'm faced with a staff that seems to genuinely care about my animals. From the receptionist and vet techs to Dr. Andrews--they are all beautifully friendly and wonderfully caring with your fur family members.
Their prices are some of the lowest I've found ($30 office visit? What?!?!). Their cost for a wellness visit (examination + vaccinations) is as low
