We recommend giving monthly heartworm prevention called Heartgard to your canine companions. We have had two positive heartworm tests in the last year just at Broadway Veterinary Hospital. There is heartworm prevalent in Idaho and it's becoming more and more prevalent every year! Heartworms are an internal parasite that is transferred by a bite from a mosquito and spread from the blood from an infected pet to your pet.

My boyfriend and I recently adopted a sweet older cat from the Idaho humane society, we were told her blood tests were very healthy she was just under weight from being a stray. After a month of barely eating she completely stopped and stopped drinking. On the weekend of New Years all of the surrounding veterinarian hospitals were closed and I was on an 8 hour wait for one. Although they were fully booked for the day, Broadway Veterinary Hospital found time to see us and diagnosed her with hepatic lipidosis and gave her immediate treatment over three days. I’m from Boise originally, moved to Tacoma 3 years ago. I was very disappointed to see none of the staff, (medically minded people), we’re not wearing masks. I understand it is not mandated like it is where I live, but there’s no excuse. Kids are getting hit hard by Omicron, everybody needs to do their part to protect others from getting Covid, doesn’t matter if you’ve been vaxxed or not, (although everyone without a true medical condition should have had there 2nd if not booster dose), wear a mask! I will not be back.

It was great to have Dr. S really listen to my concerns, take appropriate steps to assure our Lexie was safe, and get her home feeling better- as was clear from her rest and calm that night. The vet has been calling daily to check up on her since the visit. Who does that?! Clearly concerned about Lexie healing.

My dog was only there for a short time at the end of her life. I rushed her in because I thought she was dying, but the staff was so accommodating. She did die a few days later, but Dr Pence sent me a sweet card and some roses a few days after. I will definitely return to Broadway Vet if I have another animal.

Broadway Vet is the best. They LOVE my dog. I know they love all animals, but they make me feel like my dog is the best. All of the staff is friendly and kind. The Vet Tech and Vet were both attentive and responsive to my needs.

Truly, I cannot recommend this vet enough. The team was compassionate, responsive, and comforting. My pet was a hedgehog and the team took care of him with such kindness. Their response was timely and they would make time for my hedgehog when things went sour quickly with his health. Thank you to all the amazing staff that took care of me as much as my sweet Huck.

We really enjoyed our first visit! Their kind and warm staff made me and my pet feel really comfortable. They were booked further out than I hoped to wait, but I asked to be put on a cancellation list and they were able to get us in only a few days later. Great service! They also offer a referral/rewards program which was a really nice surprise for myself and the friend who referred them.

I was so impressed with Broadway Vet! Our little golden retriever puppy was suddenly throwing up non-stop and we called our normal vet. They couldn’t see him, but recommended we “go somewhere today”. I called… Broadway Vet and they told me to come in 30 minutes. They were very transparent and told me exactly what should be done and the associated cost each step of the way. It turned out he had swallowed a rope toy and it needed to be removed :( Broadway Vet moved their schedule around and got him into surgery (they even showed me exactly what was removed). He recovered
