JHSM has its' roots in Esalen Style massage, blended with subtle energy work (Reiki) and a unique group of Hands-on techniques focusing on the. With a background in Psychology, Keersha began her study of massage in 1978 and worked for the New School of Massage in Sebastopol, CA. As a bodyworker, Keersha focused offering massage as part of 11-15 day intensive psychological growth workshops.
As a Staff Member in the STAR Foundation, she recognized the value of team effort in integrating bodywork with psychological/emotional work, and continues to develop ways to bring comfort and safety to inner work.

Located in a lovely, country setting surrounded by beauty and the sounds of nature, JHSM has been training bodywork professionals since 1979. At JHSM we take a break from our busy schedules to focus on learning to touch with sensitivity and care. The nurturing atmosphere and small class size create a comfortable learning environment for every student.
The Advanced training prepares students to perform massage techniques with clients experiencing physical or emotional trauma. It is a valuable class for anyone in the massage therapy field. New and Advanced strokes are taught to work with physical trauma resulting from injury and/or emotional trauma manifesting as physical trauma in the body.
