As always, my routine cleaning/checkup at DMFD was a pleasant experience (yes, I mean that!) Dr. Main and all her staff are warm, friendly and totally professional. Melissa does a great job with the cleaning, somehow managing to be thorough and gentle at the same time. The pandemic protocols are strictly observed and much appreciated.

I grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa. I obtained a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Iowa. I graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2006. I have enjoyed practicing dentistry over the past 13 years in both private practice and in public health care settings. I am a member of the American Dental Association and the Iowa Dental Association.
Des Moines Family Dentistry is comprised of a team of experienced and energetic people whose goal is to communicate well with our patients and provide the best care possible! Our lead dental assistant, June Canfield, has been working in the dental field for almost 25 years. She has been a dental assistant for 20 years and has always enjoyed the variety of each day in the dental office.
Main, most definitely, and everyone in the office is excellent but in their work, compassionate, and delightful to talk with. I'm always comfortable and cared for so well. Always a good experience all around. Thank you so much! Visiting here felt so comfortable, it felt like I was a part of the family by the middle of my first visit.

The friendliest staff I've ever had. Super helpful when making decisions about the health and well being of my teeth. I felt comfortable even with the condition of my teeth. Every appointment has been very quick......you go back, they do what you're there for, see if there are questions or concerns, you pay and are on your way out feeling great about your experience. I won't be going anywhere else now that I've found Dr. Main and her wonderful staff. ❤

We recently moved to Des Moines, so I went hunting for a new family dentist. This practice is well-run and efficient. Everyone is so friendly, and they explain everything they’re doing as they do it. They were so patient and kind with us, even though we were not the best patients (running late, rambunctious 4-year-old, new therapy dog in training). They rolled with everything and did it with a smile. I appreciated it very much!
Oh, and I should add that my husband and I enjoyed our goody bags, and my son is still playing with the bag of toys they gave him! He says thank you!

They were able to get me in for a broken tooth, within an hour after they opened after a 3 day holiday weekend. They called and set up an appointment for me within minutes of them opening, after I had left a message 3 days before.
Then called back to move it up because of a cancellation. Great staff, everyone is very professional.
Update: Originally, the tooth I broke the 3rd of July would have to wait to be scheduled for a temporary crown sometime in September. My schedule was flexible and they called 2 days later with the final crown scheduled for the 13th of August. They had another schedule

Dr.Main and her staff were phenomenal! I struggle with being anxious at the dentist, but they went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable for the entirety of my visit. I received the most thoughtful, genuine, and gentle exam/cleaning I ever have before. Dr.Main gave me advice on how to better my oral care without lecturing or making me feel guilty. Words can’t come close to describing my gratitude for the amazing gals at DMFD!
