Recently came to revisit Bonnie B's Smokin a couple years after my initial visit. Although dining in was a preferable experience, I was still impressed by the authentic BBQ experience (down to a slice of white bread with my chicken and sides!).
The BBQ sauce is a bit more runny than what I'm used to, but MAN it tasted good. There was a depth of flavor punctuated by a tang that really complemented the chicken that was cooked to perfection. The mac n cheese and baked beans were great, but the watermelon lemonade was a true standout.
I can't wait to come back again.

Lots of yummy goodness here! Smokey deliciousness in a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. We tried several different meats and all were wonderful. Chicken and ribs were tender and flavorful, with a nice selection of sauces. Very good smoked salmon and hot links too! Side dishes are tasty and the portions are just right for the very reasonable prices. Owners and staff are friendly and provide great service. We look forward to returning for another fantastic meal very soon!

I was really excited to get some homemade barbecue but was very,very disappointed. The 1st day I came in town they were closed on a Thursday which is unreal for a business that wants to make money. The 2nd day we went They were closed again early. The 3rd day I was there we finally got a chance to get some barbecue and it wasn't what I expected it wasn't as tender as I expected . For a minority own business I truly thought they were open to cater to the people but the excuse of the Individual was we ran out of food that's why we closed early really. This is bordering between 3 and 4 stars. I visited on a day that they were experiencing plumbing issues, and they were professional enough to still be able to deliver an order that was placed and had gone through (apparently they had to close all orders soon after). They were also very nice and did not allow the stressful situation carry over to their service. Great service! The quality of the meat was lacking... I will be back to see if the food is prepared better when they are not dealing with an emergency plumbing issue, and I hope the food tastes better - I am sure the service will remain amazing

I always come here for the super saucy rib tips and the mac and cheese. Coming from the South, I find that BBQ places in LA are often a miss. This one is a hit!
The rib tips are well-smoked; the meat is tender but the cartilage is crunchy if you like that sort of thing. They are very heavily sauced. The sauce is very sweet and just a touch vinegary and peppery but mainly sweet. They include a piece of white bread to sop up the sauce too.

I tried this place for the first time and it was VERY disappointing. I ordered the smothered chicken (it had a funny taste) the mac & cheese tasted old, the greens were OK, I ended up not eating it and threw it ALL away. I can DEFINITELY say that this was my first and LAST time going to this place! Pasadena NEEDS better soul food establishments to choose from.

Normally I'm 100% pleased with Bonnie B but yesterday's meal wasn't as pleasing... The ribs seemed to be reheated from another day/ seemed old, the beans could have cooked longer ( a little under cooked and gave me heartburns) and the peach-cobbler this time they used small tiny peaches like from fruit cocktail. The only thing seemed to be on point was the Mac and cheese..... And this just to mind they put the sauce on the side it's not enough. One day I as if they could put the sauce on the meat and they said no they can't....

Highly recommend okra & tomato w rice, black eyed peas w rice, and the rib tips. A ton of food for the price, vegetarian big plate is great for trying four different items. and the corn muffins!!!! it’s a real family business you have to catch them at the right hours. more than worth it and always special to eat here

Went here for the first time this week. Food was fast and decent. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich which was okay as it had a funny after taste. Could have been from the plastic baggie it was served in. The BBQ sauce was good as were the sides. The biggest drawback is that the portions are VERY small for the amount of money spent. Not impressed.

This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood because I didn't even realize it was located here. I ordered the chicken bbq combo with baked beans, mac n cheese, jalapeño corn bread, plus their house made lemonade. Due to the ongoing C19 pandemic there's no dining allowed inside so we took our lunch to nearby McDonald park. My food was very good and the meat was nice and tender. We enjoyed our meal and I recommend you give this mom & pop restaurant a try.

Bonnie B's is the best BBQ I've had since moving from TX by a WIDE margin. Go here. Skip Dickie's and all the other wanna-be BBQ joints, and come here. It's cheaper and tastier than all these other glorified wing shops that couldn't smoke a rib if their lives depended on it.

On a Wednesday evening in September, my hubby placed a call for 2 meats combo w/2 sides. The place is easy to find on a Lake Ave pass 210 freeway next to Big Lots. The owner was really nice and our food was ready.
The pork ribs was tender and doesn't need additional sauce with potato salad and bbq beans. Other combo plate was rib tips was tasty and tender w/collard greens and sweet potato candy yams. Overall our meal was delicious. I would come back again.

My family ordered and shared the catfish combo (with potato salad and greens) and a plate with pulled pork and brisket (with Mac and okra). The food was hot and ready when we arrived for pick-up, and we jumped right in to the food as soon as we got home.

Ordered a very delicious bbq lunch this weekend from here. We ordered two of the two meat plates to sample a few things.
1st note, the bbq sauce on the side is a tangy heaven! I dipped everything in it!
We got the ribs, rib tips, brisket and chicken with sides of collard greens, mac and cheese, potato salad and their jalepeno corn bread.
It was a standout meal! I liked everything we got. And yes, you should believe the rave reviews on their ribs and cornbread!
