Services
At Pet Haven Animal Hospital we provide your pet with an extensive range of routine and specialized medical care for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, small mammal pocket pets and other exotics. Our comprehensive veterinary services attend to all of your concerns in a professional and compassionate atmosphere.
A wellness exam is a routine medical examination that is performed in order to monitor and optimize your pet's health and assesses your pet's current health condition. This will give our veterinarians the proper information to help discover any underlying hidden diseases or conditions, and allow for an early diagnosis and curative treatment that will ensure your pet's longevity.
We tailor our vaccine protocol to each patient's life style and risk factors with the ultimate goal of giving as few vaccines as possible. We begin to vaccinate puppies as early as 6-8 weeks of age with follow-up vaccinations every 3-4 weeks until your puppy is at least 4 months old. Please try to remember to bring a fecal/stool sample with you so that it can be checked for intestinal parasites.
With proper testing and the administration of preventative medication and measures, most common parasites can be effectively controlled or eliminated. Internal parasites are those that can invade your pet's gastrointestinal tract or other internal organs such as their heart. Puppies and kittens often acquire gastrointestinal parasites from their mothers.
There is now a wide array of medications available for treating and controlling external parasites, such as fleas, ticks, and ear mites. Most treatments need to be given or applied just once monthly. The recent introduction of the product Trifexis (dogs only) makes control of Heartworm, Intestinal Parasites (roundworms, hookworms, whipworms) and Fleas as simple as giving one tablet a month.

You guys killed my co-worker’s cat. You use outdated medicine that shouldn’t be given to cats (like ketamine), have a filthy facility and honestly shouldn’t be opened. Disgusting.

Even though our Rosco didn't make it I just wanted to send my sincerest thank you to Dr. Keschner of Pet Haven Animal Hospital. He and his staff were so warm and very personable. First vet office that I ever went to that was actually as devastated by Rosco's passing as we were. They truly care.

OMG!!! This receptionist is awful!!! I called because my dad took my cat in while I was away and he mentioned that they wanted to see my cat in a month but didn’t remember why, so I thanked him and was like I’ll call in to find out.
The receptions was so nasty and lazy. She pulled the chart and is like “I can’t read the doctors handwritting, call… back later”. I tell her that I’m concern and if she can’t ask the doctor what it says and she’s like “No, she has ugly handwritting, she will call you back, they will call our back, Goodbye&rdquo

This vet has been the best for our Fur-baby - she needed an amputation, and they've been like therapists to us, and so, so wonderful toward the cat. Because of their expertise, both my partner and I are optimistic about the future, and confident in our cat's health. Highly recommended.

I really appreciate the time and thoroughness Dr. Keshner provides. I feel that he is straight up and has the experience that I can trust. I know he isn't just running a million unnecessary tests like I felt would happen when I used to see a vet in Park Slope. I also come every so often to buy the special vet diet food to help keep her weight down. Overall I definitely recommend this animal hospital to my friends and others.

I have been bringing my dog here since I adopter her. Dr. Keschner is the most caring and honest vet I have ever used. He and staff always take the best care of my pit mix Pearl. I wouldn't bring my dog anywhere else.
