I would like to preface that my opinion of mountaineer village is independent of my opinion of the maintenance team. This review is strictly in terms of the maintenance team. Mountaineer village has over 500 bedrooms that these 3 men look over and they are always prompt and timely. I personally have had Steven and Dustin and a few of the temps hired at the beginning of the year. They are always kind and good about working around schedules. I’m impressed that they come to do the tasked asked of them, but also look for other ways to be helpful while they’re around. They’re very attentive and

Lived here for 3 years and really enjoyed the community. Though rent was raised every year it didn't bother because the maintenance team and leasing office employees were always so helpful and quick to respond to any concerns. Location is great if you don't want to live too close to campus but having to ride the bus is one of the draw backs (it is always on schedule tho!). Like any college neighborhood, your going to have some sleepless nights from parties and such, have reasonable expectations and you will really enjoy living here.

Maintenance was always great! Very polite and helpful. Fixed things perfectly every time. Only gripe is that the AC goes out every year. However, it is typically fixed in a timely manner, so this isn’t a huge deal. Management is super responsive and the front desk staff are helpful. Grounds are kept clean and there is plenty of parking. Overall have enjoyed living here!

I lived at mountaineer village from 2013-2015, and I loved it. The staff was always nice (especially Ryan). The bus route was convenient, although in the early morning often full. A bus comes every 15 minutes, though, so you're covered. The room was fairly big and comfy. They allowed us to hang stuff on the wall so long as we repaired any… holes when we moved. I used poster strips to hang posters, and that really made it feel like home. My first roommate matching experience was great. They became my best friends, and I still talk to them regularly. My third roommate was also a great match

Our maintenance guys are really and truly the sweetest people around. They always give a friendly hello and a wave when you see them working around the facility. I called after hours last night for a broken… washer and they arrived the next day and gave me a heads up with a phone call. I have never had a bad experience- they even give our puppies love when they come by or see us on a walk. When one of our fuses blew on a stormy night, we called maintenance and someone came by immediately even though they were off work. I'm not sure how I'll get by once I move cause these guys know everything

The staff act like robots. Problems not resolved at local, supervisor, upper management and calks to owner not returned.
Small expensive spaces. Inadequate assurance of shared living space and poor match of roommates.
Dirty/trashy outside areas. Smoking allowed outside and had to constantly walk through it.

Over priced, poor management, poor roommate matching. Wasn't told about having to get new parking pass, wasn't told about when locks were being changed, mailbox was broken and wasn't notified that it was fixed and that they only gave us one key bc they were making more. Have to email to find out what is going on. Matched me with roommates nothing… like myself. Can't break the lease, said if I find someone to sublease they move in but I don't get my $300 security deposit back even tho I'm moving out all because of how crappy this place is. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Would not recommend
