I love food, and everything that goes into preparing a meal shared with friends and family. The joy and laughter recalls those dearest memories of my childhood spent moving and traveling through Vietnam, Laos & Thailand. Co Nam, brings comfort Vietnamese food with the occasional twists in a setting composed from pieces of my childhood memories.

I hope you enjoy the food, drinks, and atmosphere as much as I enjoyed putting them together. A creative, "epicurious" and well travelled chef, Vy's extensive training began with the California Culinary Academy where she graduated in 2002. While in school she built her repertoire of Vietnamese and Japanese recipes working at traditional Asian restaurants.

The best neighborhood spot I could ever hope for. The basa fish is phenomenal- every item on their menu is fresh and made with love. I’m obsessed! I’ve dined in and ordered takeout many times. Cozy interior and lovely staff.

As a Vietnamese person, the pho was very disappointing. The broth was not good on its own, and they only provided tiny packets of hoisin sauce and sriracha when a lot was needed to add flavor. They also gave very little steak in the soup which is annoying for a $14 pho. The waitress was horrible, she took our order and never checked on us. She forgot our wine and left all of her work for the busboy, who actually did a great job when it was not his responsibility. Thank god he made up for the waitress because she gave the worst restaurant service I’ve ever experienced. Don’t waste your money

Great little vietnamese, chilled vibe, fun take on the Vietnam theme, experimental and bursting with flavours. I love the wicked buns.

Co Nam is a gem among eateries on Polk street. Upscale ambiance, ingredients, and beer selection.
It’s tagline is “Rustic Vietnamese”, but the ingredients include this dish with filet mignon and French fries, onions and a yummy sauté sauce.
Also pictured are the delicious fresh shrimp spring roles with peanut and siracha sauce.
The pho here is a step above with fresh ingredients.
Also, the beer selection is fabulous in here if strong ales, IPA’s and seasonal selections.
The owner is very nice and just opened another one of these restaurants in Oakland.
I go here at least once a week

A nice little cozy spot in Polk Gulch. Food as well as interior are more sophisticated than typical Vietnamese in San Francisco but still casual in atmosphere and price. Great selection of world beers. Not quiet nor moody but family friendly. Kind people.

Very pleasantly surprised with this find on Polk street. Nice small place, good ambiance, not too noisy we were able to comfortably talk at our table. Most importantly good food, with multiple vegan and vegetarian options.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant serving rustic Vietnamese in an upscale way. Don't worry, it is not pretentious at all. The shaky beef and lemongrass chicken are must haves. Sit at the well appointed bar that was designed and built by the owner and have a terrific cocktail. Great place to chill or go on a date. If you have any questions, the friendly staff is happy to help.

The food was delicious, but wait time is long and it's a bit pricey for the amount of food you get. My boyfriend ordered the French toast and got two dinky pieces after having to wait half an hour for his food. I like the beef stir fry bowl though...
