Afterburn is a great program that Ochsner offers and I recommend anyone to take a stab at it. Marybeth, Chris and some of the new trainers know what they’re doing and take the TLC to work with anyone of any fitness level. It’s a great bang for your buck!

I’ve been looking for a gym with child care for awhile, since it’s just me and my girls. I came across this one and signed a year contract.
After two months, I’m enjoying going to the gym four to five days a week. The machines are in good condition, and the cleaning staff is always present.
The little cafe has a few offerings and everything I’ve had there has been enjoyable.
My only complaint is the childcare. I have a seven-year-old and a four-year-old, and they hate going with me. All children, no matter their age, are put into the nursery. My kids are bored and not stimulated when

Ochsner in Harahan is a great place to workout and get support to stay on top of your health goals. I love the group fitness classes. The instructors are truly the best! They are always prepared with fun and challenging classes. I highly recommend trying a group fitness class.

The facilities are spectacular. The pools are very enjoyable and there are plenty of well organized classes to choose from. We did two personal training sessions with Craig and he was very flexible with scheduling and catered to exactly what we needed/requested. He came prepared, kept in touch, and gave us the incentive we needed to work hard.

I absolutely love it here! The step classes are amazing, and I love using the pool, too. The indoor pool option is wonderful because you don't have to worry about the weather canceling your workout. The group fitness instructors are fantastic. I go to classes 6 days a week and they're fabulous! I especially love step, spin, and body pump.

This is the best gym I have ever been to. It has everything you need or want in one building. It’s great to be able to use and indoor track when the out doors temperature is above 90 degrees, with 100 percent humidity. They did a great job in renovating the workout areas and the track. The various pools are the topping on the cake. I recommend this place to everyone I talk to.

This place is incredible . I love the 24hr access which allows me late night workouts when no one is there . I am not rushed during these hrs. We have our late night die hards . It is a true family environment . More older crowd even in the daytime. I have visited harahan location everything to spread out granted it is beautiful for more or taylored for more activities. But Heritage plaza is more homely. Love our pool , sauna , steam room and whirlpool. As an Actor this gym gives me everything I need to stay fit . Get in shape for any role in the movie industry.
Thank you so much Ochsner for our

Gym is pretty good. Gotten worse since it became Ochsner.... there is a lot more rude members and half the time I'm in the locker room somebody has got something stolen. One time rushing in and out with a lock and had all my credit cards stolen. Must have not locked it right. Watch your stuff and double check it's locked up!! I pay so much to go here, I should feel somewhat at ease. I mean, I get it that is was my fault but it shouldn't happen as much as it does. I hear about it all the time

We've been to Downtown, Harahan, and Heritage Plaza. We have probably been to this place the most simply because of the hours. The 24 hour access is awesome. I find this gym is the easiest to get in and out for a quick workout.
It doesn't have as many amenities as Harahan, but it also doesn't have the crowd. The gym is on the top floor accessible by elevator. But we always take the stairs for a good warmup.
The pool is small, and looks to be only used for classes.
Great little gym.

Not as many nice amenities as the main Harahan location, but I've been going to Heritage Plaza every weekday morning for my before work workout. They have about 10 treadmills, a variety of other cardio equipment, along with weights and the usual stuff. It's a small gym, but not very busy either so I've never had an issue with having to wait for equipment. Decent sized locker room with showers... that's really all I need. Oh, and a small pool, where they do senior water classes each morning (you can watch them from the treadmills).

EFC in Heritage Plaza, located conveniently on Veterans at the Orleans/Jefferson parish line, is a great spot to work out all around. I'm used to EFC Harahan which is massive, so this place took some getting used to the first few times I visited, but the perk of being smaller is that it tends to be less busy as well. They have cardio machines on the upper floor, with the lower floor dedicated to strength building/free weights. There's ample space for weight lifting considering the volume of people who come here. They also have a small pool, but it's so small that I've never

Not as great as the harahan one. For many reasons. It is smaller upside there are less people who come here too but there is less machines and for me the few times I went I had to wait for the row machine I like. It's not a big wait it's just painting a mental scene for y'all.
It is not at the same level as LA fitness type clubs but it is well above some other local gyms and I would say if you live near it the convenience is well worth it.
Machines are a bit rusty looking.

Elmwood by far has the best gyms in the city! Spending the last nine years in California has spoiled my idea of fitness centers. I'd become used to plush fitness centers with indoor pools, raquetball and basketball courts, multiple work out rooms and stretching areas, pilates and yoga classes, high tech and new machines.....and the list goes on! But since I've been back in New Orleans, it's been like night of the living gym dumps! Everywhere I've gone has either been cheap and kinda seedy or too expensive and not worth the dough. I have no problem coming out of the pocket

Elmwood Fitness at Heritage Plaza is small, but has an ample selection of elliptical machines, treadmills, stair climbers, and a few bikes and other machines. There are two types of weight machines upstairs and an additional type of equipment downstairs in the free weight room. I enjoy using the weight equipment upstairs and the elliptical machines (each with its own television!).
This club offers a variety of classes including Bodypump, Bodyflow, yoga and Zumba, as well as spinning. There is a tiny lap pool (which also hosts water aerobics classes). The locker rooms and facilities are adequate

The Elmwood Heritage Plaza fitness center is a satellite facility for Elmwood. For a satellite facility, it's amazing and is better than most regular gyms.
The gym is on the 4th floor of the heritage plaza building. Parking is kind of a pain. You can park across the street by Winn Dixie or next door. But parking in the lot in front of the Elmwood door is limited. There is a large parking garage available, too. Regardless of where you park, you must use the elevator to enter the facility. And upon exit you must have a validated parking pass. These are provided at the Elmwood front
