Urban Vet Care first opened its doors in January of 2003 on North Speer Boulevard. In the summer of 2012, we expanded to a beautiful 5,000 square foot facility at 2815 Clay Street. We have a staff of over 40 that includes 8 doctors. We take pride in our commitment to full service care, whether our clients and patients are here for an appointment or to stay in our hospital for an illness or surgical procedure.
Urban Vet Care is an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association, the only organization in North America that provides accreditation to companion animal hospitals. Our hospital was evaluated on an extensive list of more than 900 rigorous standards that directly correlate to the care that we provide to our patients.

Services
We offer annual wellness care, emergency care, anesthesia and surgery, dentistry, digital radiology, laboratory and pharmacy services and prescription diets. We also offer consultations with a board certified veterinary dentist, surgeon, cardiologist and radiologist. A component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has been used as a therapy for over 3,000 years.
We are very proud to announce that Urban Vet Care has created a charitable fund to offer financial support to clients who need assistance to provide life-saving care for their pets. All too often, even the best pet owners can find themselves financially unprepared to do what is needed to save their pet, and facing a heart-wrenching decision if they can't afford treatment.
The veterinary industry nationwide has had a huge surge in volume over the last year. For this reason, we have decided to temporarily not take new clients, in an effort to be able to better serve our existing clients. We will make an announcement when we are able to serve new clients. We will, however, make exceptions for puppies and kittens in need of their vaccinations.
Dr. Katie Tucker-Mohl, VMD, DACVR Dr. Katie Tucker-Mohl received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007. Following graduation, she completed a one year internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. She spent the next seven years working as an emergency veterinarian at Wheat Ridge, during which time she cultivated an interest in radiology.
Urban Vet Care is thrilled to announce that we are partnering with Children's Hospital Colorado with a gift in support of the hospital's medical dog program. Urban Vet will be providing free care to the hospital's three medical dogs (Ralph, Halo, and Galaxy) supporting animal-assisted therapy for the patients at Children's Colorado as well as a financial donation to the program.

A sad shell of a vet practice, long ago succumbing to the draw of maximum profitability over your pet's health, your finances or anything that doesn't allow them to function as an exploitative leech embedded into the skin of your pet from the moment you walk through that door.
Let me make it impossibly, exceedingly clear that you and your pet are a metric here. A meaningless statistic. Well, at least my pets and I have become that over the course of five or so years. Sure, they'll point to some pro bono work one of the doctors did in '99, but the business model is clear: process

Urban Vet Care has looked after my two senior cats for 5+ years. One of my cats has begun to struggle with age-related health issues. Everyone at Urban Vet has treated my cat like their own and been receptive to talking over treatment possibilities. I 100% trust Urban Vet to take care of my beloved girls and am thankful they're my Vet.

In the six months prior to my having to put down my beloved dog, I took her here. Everyone was so kind and gentle and the vet went out of his way to keep my visits as humane and low-cost as possible. Dr. Baldwin and the staff are all on my blessing list.
Thank you for being so good to me and my dearly-departed 85lb "girl,"

I am deeply saddened to be writing this because we have been a loyal client of Urban Vet Care (UVC) for over 15 years. We have stayed despite rising care costs and increasing difficulty scheduling appointments because we always felt like the care was worth it.
Recently one of our pups was diagnosed and hospitalized with Pancreatitis. The recovery has been difficult, scary, and filled with questions. Unfortunately, our experience with care during this time has driven us to look at alternatives. After hospitalization, Wheatridge Animal Hospital suggested a shift in the direction of diet recommended

Can't really think of any way this could have gone any better...my favorite moment was when my little kitty swiped the fuzzy glitter ball (which the vet gave him to play with while we were waiting) under the front door of the exam room--and a few seconds later, someone rolled it back under the door! So cute and so cat savvy!

We took our dogs there for 8 years before we moved back to California last summer. This place runs like a well-oiled machine, and is clean, with state of the art facilities. We saw several different doctors over the years there, and some are now no longer there, but overall we had consistently excellent care and service there. The techs and front desk staff are outstanding, and some of the same ones were there for years (more turnover with the doctor staff than the support staff - kinda unusual). They even have a comforting room set aside for euthanasia - made the hardest thing we've ever faced

This review is long long overdue but so much deserved. My rescue dogs have been patients here for 5 years. Through illness and well checks and virtual pandemic visits I have nothing but kudos and gratitude for the gentle and knowledgeable care my dogs have received at Urban Vet. My 6 year old mix has had health problems, but likes the vet typically. My youngest pup is otherwise healthy but has severe, I mean severe, anxiety at the vet. As a healthcare provider myself I can attest it is not easy work to care for both patient and "parent," but over the years we have consistently

We've been going here for 2 years now and we've always had a great experience! Yesterday my dog was not doing well and they were so accommodating to get him in before the weekend so we didn't need to make a trip to the ER. Everyone who works here has always been very nice. Cant recommend this vet enough.

I won't be returning for 3 reasons:
1. Prices through the roof for merely adequate care.
2. Waiting time too long with an appointment time scheduled far in advance.
3. Trying to sell you everything under the sun, when your dog has an upset tummy. They wanted to do x-rays for blockage when my dog was eating and defecating. They also recommended a full blood work-up with all the fixins' as she mentioned CANCER for a 1 yr old dog. It was a sales speech, and nothing more. I was embarrassed for her that she isn't able to run her practice ethically, without up-selling or insisting on

The doctors are very nice but only half of them really seem to know what they are doing. The prices are through the roof and they will make sure they charge you for absolutely everything to make their diagnosis. Been to many vets in the past and these guys do not cut it. You can certainly find better in Denver.

We used to love going here, but has diminished in customer satisfaction and overall genuine care for pets over the duration of our experience. For context, we have 3 dogs from the age of 1 - 13 years old. They've been going in for routine check-ups, random issues, and ongoing treatments. The timing for getting in has slipped, the sales of additional products has increased, and their "extra" determinants for pets has become ridiculous (e.g. we thought we had a dog potentially eat a Kong and they wanted to conduct medical imaging above and beyond x-rays, we took him to the ER and they

We bring both our dog and cat here and they always receive excellent care from both the front desk employees and the techs and drs. I also am in the office every month to pick up special cat food (food sensitivities requiring prescription food) and meds for the dog. Their prices are cheaper than ordering online and the service is better as well. They are always prompt and polite.
I've noticed most of the negative reviews on yelp refer to people who arrive to their appt late and find it has been cancelled after 10 minutes. If you are going to be more than five minutes late, you should have

Prices are really high here a urine test alone was $108 which after shopping around was 40-50% higher than others, also between our two visits we only saw a vet for about 5 minutes total, the rest of the time it was just vet techs. The team is nice but be prepared to spend a lot for the location and not the services.
Update- also be sure to ask about prices ahead of time, they charge a lot but give no indication of this until after when they drop the bill. Two urine tests, an antibiotic and heart worm meds and we were at $600. Similar bills for the same treatment at other vets are in the $300

Cats hate the vet, it's a scientific fact. Being shoved in a carrier then taken outside to the car is traumatic enough, let alone taking them to a place that smells like other animals where they get poked and prodded.
Makes sense why they don't enjoy it.
I used to have a vet who makes house calls and that was amazing. That service isn't available in Denver but Urban Vet is the next best thing. They're less than a mile from my house and there's tons of parking available so you can scoot in with your pet and make it as trauma-free as possible.
