Our roots in St. Petersburg and the surrounding areas run deep, and as a longstanding member of the community, Dr. Wehrmann has earned the respect of his colleagues and regularly accepts referrals from other practices for surgical or other procedures.
Dr. Wehrmann graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Zoology. He went back to his hometown to earn a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. Go Tigers! He has written many articles regarding companion animal care that have appeared in regional and national publications, and has lectured at veterinary meetings and numerous companion pet organizations.
Bayshore Animal Hospital & Avian Practice is a full-service veterinary hospital for all companion animals. We have a passion for birds and exotic pets, and a special place in our hearts for senior dogs and cats.

We recommend annual wellness visits for most animals. Elderly pets or those suffering from certain chronic conditions may require more frequent visits. Our number one priority is to make sure your pet lives a long, healthy life. At your pet's wellness exam, one of our caring doctors will address any questions or concerns you might have, perform a physical examination and evaluation, and administer appropriate vaccines.
Having a safe, comfortable place to board your pets while you're away is paramount to your peace of mind. At Bayshore Animal Hospital, all animals, including birds and rabbits, are welcome in our boarding facilities. Your pet will enjoy the comforts of a clean, temperature-controlled environment tailored to his or her individual needs.

The receptionist Anna is unbelievably dismissive, I lost my pet because she gave me wrong information over the phone. And I call today again for my other pet , and there she is being rude again, you would think the owner is educated enough to hire staff that belong in an animal hospital and know how to talk to pet families. But I doubt education matters much to him now in comparison with the money he is making.
This shouldn’t be a money machine. Fire Anna and hire professionals

The doctors and staff at Bayshore Animal Hospital are exceptional! I wouldn't trust my pets to any other veterinary office. They've been with us through checkups, surgeries, and more. The staff are friendly, know us by name, and always make every effort to accommodate our animals and address our concerns -- even sometimes on short notice and on the same day in emergency circumstances. I cannot recommend them more!

We've been taking our cats to Bayshore Animal Hospital for years, and we've been happy with their care. Dr. Sanders is knowledgeable and communicative. In the spring, our female cat became gravely ill, and we thought we were losing her. Dr. Passarelli handled our case, and we're so grateful for her assistance! Dr. Passarelli stayed in contact with us and laid out a treatment plan that did the trick. Our Stickers is now back to her usual, healthy self. Cats may have nine lives, but with Bayshore they may just eke out a few more!
