First time ordering tonight. Wished I had gone to my regular spot. I ordered shrimp egg foo young and veg lo mein. I love both dishes, but foo young was horrible because the rice was way overcooked. The rice was so soft and mushy it felt like I was eating dough... it was a failure. Lo Mein had a good taste, but hardly any vegies. Nasty over cooked rice destroyed the meal... money was wasted. Will not return.

I've lived in the area for about 5 years now and this is my go to Chinese place. Excellent Chicken and Broccoli which is my standard, but everything else I've had from here has been really good.
They did an excellent job managing COVID precautions and are super friendly every time I pick up. I do use the ordering app so generally no issues placing/picking up orders.

Best Chinese restaurant for miles. Whenever I invite people down from Maplewood, or out of state - they always comment over dinner (main star) that the dishes they make are superb & better than whatever they have in their areas.
Been going here since I was 6 with my dad, it’s still the same great quality even under new owners now that I’m an adult.

Horrible place. First time ordering from them as I usually order from another Chinese restaurant in the area and simply wanted to try out a different place.
I ordered a large entree of the boneless spare ribs. It tasted funny and I realized that some of the meat had slimy liquid dripping from them and I threw the entire thing out. Disgusting and unacceptable.
DO NOT GO HERE. They will serve you spoiled food without batting an eyelid. Save yourself from food poisoning.

This is my first Google Review-I've never left one, positive or negative, but feel compelled to do so after my experience tonight. We have been ordering from Main Star 1-2 times per week for the past 2 years. Placed an order tonight at 6:37 pm. Restaurant called at 8:02 pm and said they couldn't deliver because we are too far from the restaurant. We pointed out that they have delivered to us at this address before and they replied "we ran out of food". We questioned why they didn't tell us that at 6:37 pm-we would have ordered from somewhere else at that point. Their response was that they could

I ordered sweet and sour chicken and they gave me the wrong sauce, or a very terrible version of sweet and sour sauce. I also have a shrimp allergy and ordered a spring roll, which surprise! Has shrimp in it!!! Be careful ordering here if you have a shellfish allergy or are vegetarian as they do not warn you what is in their spring roll (traditionally only veggies) and who knows what else. Only giving a second star because the egg roll was decent and I did not give the initial warning of my allergy, as I assumed it would be marked since the allergy is pretty common and shrimp is not typically in
