Poul Collins started his training career at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for male and female Division-1 athletes. From there, he worked his way up through three personal training gyms.

My name is Poul Collins, and I have been training people with various background since 2007. From elite collegiate athletes to people with special needs. My patience, innovation, and knowledge has always helped me find a way to achieve results with any client. Looking for new challenges, I moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2011 to work at a large corporation (big box) gym.
Individual Training is personally designed program to get the client to their goal effectively and efficiently. Training will focus on necessary Pre-Habilitation, Strength Exercises, and Rehabilitation. Nutrition and cardiovascular programs can also be included as part of Individual Training upon request.
You can run but you can't hide! Rise Up Fitness now offers quality training to anybody in the world. Stop feeling lost at the gym, unmotivated at home, confused about nutrition, and BECOME ACCOUNTABLE for your fitness. The Rear Foot Elevated Split Squat is a must for anyone looking to be strong, athletic, and balanced. If you train here, you WILL be doing them. It doesn't get much better than deep squats. Shawn Mynar understands proper mental AND physical preparation to push her body to reach its potential. I would highly recommend Rise Up Fitness! Poul's infectious energy and encouragement to push your limits keeps you excited to come to class each day. His workouts are never boring; he mixes up the exercises so that you work muscles you never knew existed and always leave knowing you got a great workout. You won't regret it!

One of Poul's biggest success stories is a long time client of his, Shawn Mynar of Well Belly and the Nourished podcast. In the beginning, Shawn wouldn't lift heavy because she didn't want to get bulky. Now she's a big advocate for lifting heavy, pushing yourself, and getting out of your comfort zone. Poul Collins is a top notch trainer, he is always perfecting his craft and constantly staying on top of his game. I don't know another trainer who takes his career more seriously; he is always up to date on the research, science, and the latest and greatest in the fitness and wellness world. He is super creative, motivating, and safe as well as effective. I have seen more improvements over the course of a year working with Poul than any other trainer or form of exercise.
