Services
Life Source Training Institute & Affordable Counseling is a federally registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. It was founded in 2008 by Dr. Avis Attaway, LMFT. Dr. Attaway saw the need for more training opportunities for local graduate students in the mental health counseling fields. In addition, she realized there was a dire need for affordable and accessible counseling services in the Riverside community and surrounding areas.
Our staff members offer supportive and confidential individual counseling options for a variety of life issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, gender issues, and discovering a more fulfilling life. Sometimes families need help and support. Our counselors are available to help you and your family discover greater levels of communication, respect and peace within the family system.
Since our founding, our mission has been to reduce barriers to access mental health care services and provide high quality and accessible mental health care services for all individuals within California. Parallel to this mission, we provide training and practicum placement for Trainee and Associate therapists in California.
At Life Source Training Institute, we employ Trainees who are working towards their Practicum hours to become Counselors, Therapists, and Psychologists. Each Trainee is supervised by one of our Clinical Supervisors. All applicants must be in school working towards their License, Master's degree, or a professional degree.

I wouldn't waste your time or get your hopes up. I've had 3 appointments and everytime 30 minutes before my appointment they would send me the exact same message, saying I'm sorry can we reschedule because I'm really feeling under the weather. Good thing I wasn't driving over a hour to get there ( I was doing zoom instead) because they wouldn't even of given me enough heads up.I will never make another appointment. The only reason they even got a 1 star is because the review makes you put a star.
