Justin and his team were a pleasure to work with, from the initial consult all the way to closing. We received lots of insightful feedback from his initial visit, followed by some useful feedback by his stager/interior design consultant. We followed their advice as far as timing and making minor improvements before pictures were taken, which turned out to make the difference for our home sale. Their marketing material (brochures, pictures, etc.) were top notch, would highly recommend for folks looking for a realtor in the DC area!

Justin (and his team) made buying our house very easy. He was able to schedule all the houses we were interested (and in this market there were a lot) and walked through pointing out pros and cons of each. He also was helpful at identifying similar neighborhoods we were unfamiliar with, and keeping us positive when it seemed like we would never find what we were looking for. Justin helped us sell our house on Capitol Hill. Although we never met in person (because of the pandemic and the fact that we had moved out already) he was always responsive. He took care of getting the house ready to list and was quick to get our sign and listing up once everything was ready. He was professional in every way. 4J Real Estate is absolutely remarkable. Specifically, Justin. This is by far the best agent I have ever met and I've worked with 4-5 agents before. He's professional, available and knowledgeable. He knows and studies each area with data to support it. He performed comps (for the newbies, comparative analysis, where you look at the value of houses with similar profiles as the one you're interested in, in a given neighborhood). Justin worked with us for about a year showing us houses all over the city. We didn't make it easy on him, swinging back and forth between overly broad and overly specify preferences. Even when we were on the fence about buying at all, Justin treated us as valued clients and never stopped sharing ideas with us. As a first time home buyer there is always a lot to learn and a lot of trial and error. You are constantly thrown documents to sign, deadlines to meet, and it basically becomes a second job. Justin was highly recommended to us, and he proved to be the most knowledgeable person we worked with during the entire process (yes, even more knowledgeable than the seller, the broker AND the title company!). We had the misfortune of working with Mr. Paulhamus when he was the seller's agent for a property that my wife and were interested in buying.
First, he blamed all of his errors on his assistant - hiring such an allegedly inept individual reflects as poorly on him as it does on the assistant.
Second, he failed to inform the seller's tenant of her TOPA rights and erroneously informed us (the potential buyers) that it was a non-issue. In short, he was wrong and the deal fell through.
If I found out that Mr. Paulhamus were representing the other party in any negotiation I would be inclined
