Anchorage Animal Hospital is proud to serve the Louisville KY area for everything pet related. Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Keith Gaines, who is a licensed, experienced Louisville veterinarian. Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise.
A native of Louisville, Dr. Gaines fostered his love for animals as a child, raising and showing beef cattle through the local 4-H. He attended the University of Kentucky's pre-veterinary program and graduated in 1972. Dr. Gaines then went on to attend Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 1976.
This let's us record our pet and owners into our management software so that we can effectively and efficiently provide the service you deserve! We take the medical records of your pet very seriously. In order to comply with the current standards directing the release of veterinary patient medical records, we must have your written consent to transfer, copy or transmit either a portion or the entire medical history for your pet from our hospital.

We are very happy with Anchorage. A very caring staff and excellent vets. We've had some serious medical needs and they do not talk over your head about what's going on. They call you the next day to see how your pet is doing. We love them!

After a brief stay a boarding kennel, my dog developed kennel cough. My regular vet could not see him till the next day so I called Anchorage Animal Hospital. Not only was he given excellent care, the veterinarian allowed the staff to overbook her already busy schedule. A great caring professional staff. 5 stars for everyone at Anchorage Animal Hospital. Highly recommend them.

Dr. Gaines and all of the staff members have always been concerned about our fur babies and have always taken really good care of them to ensure their best health. Everyone is very professional. Anytime there have been concerns for any of our fur babies Dr. Gaines has been able to put our minds at ease. We have had a relationship with Dr. Gaines and his staff for over 25 years. We have never even considered using another veterinary care services.
