Services
The Loughmiller Institute, founded by psychologist Grover C. Loughmiller in 1974, is presently the practice home of Stephen C. Westmoreland, Ed. D. Dr. Westmoreland became the Institute's psychologist in 2002 and has worked to offer comprehensive mental health counseling and testing services to East Texans since that time.
Many habits tend to take over our lives before we realize what has happened. Most long-term habits seem impossible to break. There is help! Hypnosis by a trained professional can often help you overcome the habit that has taken over your life. One of the primary advantages of hypnosis from the professionals at the Institute is that it is catered specifically to each individual and his own motivations.
A common misconception is that a person in Hypnosis is unconscious and under control of the hypnotist. Nothing could be farther from the truth. When a person is in Hypnosis, you are deeply relaxed physically, yet mentally, many times more alert than in your normal state of awareness. You hear and respond to everything, and you are an active participant in the therapy.
