Disappointed. Garlic mashed potatoes were soupy thin with no flavor. Asparagus was woody and covered up by the soupy potatoes. Prime rib had so much fat and gristle that there was not much meat to eat and the only flavor was from the AuJus. Waitress checked on us way too many times. (About every 5 minutes) Then she thought it was appropriate to ask if I wanted change ( which would have given her more than a 30% tip!) This was my first time at Rockwoods. It was supposed to be a birthday celebration.

The sidewalk was cleared of snow.
The hostess were friendly when we walked In and while we were walking out.
The have a good bar there for adults to have some drinks.
The company that I work for has some company party's there aswell.

Tonight was by far my best experience there. Food has always been amazing, but we had a waitress named Courtney, and OMG was she amazing. I have always highly recommended this place but she took it to a next level!! Thank you so much Courtney for making this a memorable experience!! We were there celebrating our anniversary with the children and you were just amazing. Thank you so much for making tonight a extraordinary extremely experience!!

Nice family restaurant with a diverse menu. Bbq, steak, chicken, crab legs, pizza, burgers...
I had the crab cakes and a salad, they were great. The brisket and fried chicken were also 2 thumbs up. Someone had the pot roast and said it was amazing. Michelle our waitress did a great job. We had 2 tables with a total of 14 and she didn't miss a beat. She was also great and distributing the tabs. Thanks!

Great restaurant and not from this area but was visiting a friend on Saturday night 11/05/2021. My tab was cheap at 33.$$, was going to say great things about my night, other than after only being there for 30 minutes, paid with a card but forgot to sign and leave a tip. I went to the bathroom and went to leave, when I remembered I hadn’t signed the receipt or left tip. I went to correct this and they had already signed and left a 20 percent tip. Which I already would have, had I not forgotten to in the first place. Just was left with a bad taste in my mouth.

The dinner was awesome. DJ was great, and it was one of the most beautiful weddings I have been to. The deacon did a great homily, the bride's brothers sang during the wedding and brought tears flowing because it was so beautiful. The reception was fun and the dancing went on and on. Fun was had by everyone. Old and young. A very memorable event. Thank you for a wonderful time and for Jeff and Jean for being such great parents and role models. Love to ALL.

We had what I can only describe as "an inconsistent experience". Some of the food items were ordered were great, while other items were lacking. Same thing happened with our service throughout the meal, and with the cocktails we ordered.
Food: the seared steak tips were a great appetizer! My only warning is that these do come out medium rare and we were not asking how we would like the meat prepared. (Not a huge problem since I like red but my partner can't deal with any pink, let alone red). The sweet potato tots & seasoned sour cream also made a great appetizer! The En Fuego

Sad that we went too listen some live music. Sat on the patio and never got served? Tons of staff walked by three of us. Never stopped never looked at us. Sad that this is how they treat guests. I had too go to the bar and get my own drinks. If this is how they train people I will not go here. Had to be 6-7 staff members walk by,felt invisible over a half hour period.

First, the lobster roll was larger than expected but not nearly as good as others in town (especially Smack Shack). The lobster, sadly, tasted like it was some real meat mixed with imitation.
The best item on the menu in my experience seems to be the Pan-Fried Walleye with almonds. It's pretty solid, cooked well, and not at all fishy. Of all the items I've eaten here (quite a few), this

Rockwoods *used* to be good. Before they were bought out by the Lord Fletchers' owners and fired the whole kitchen crew and chef.
Now... the menu is uninspired and I don't think it knows what it wants to be when it grows up. The choices are between tacos (tacos? really?), salads, pasta salads, wraps... or fish and overpriced steak.
Call me strange but I don't care much for fish and if I want an actual plated dinner, I have no options but steak or sandwiches (uninspired burgers or other lazy menu offerings) or carb-loaded cold pasta.

We have stopped here many times before on our way home from Duluth. It has always been great! Delicious food and friendly service. But always in the dining room. This time however, on a Sunday afternoon during a Vikings game, only the bar was open and they had a limited menu. The chicken wings were all fatty and gross. The meat on the poutine was also all fatty and gross. The server barely came to refill our beverages. This stop was not as good as in the past.

I'd like to give this place a positive review but....... the steak salad was missing veggies and the asparagus it promised, the smoked pork chop was small and covered with a spicy hot BBQ sauce( not smoked as described), the pulled pork sandwich was eh and had such a spicy bbq my mom could not eat it. The pot pie was average. The Carolina Gold sauce did not exist as described on the menu.

Previously had attended a wedding which was a fantastic event and I really enjoyed the venue. Visited the restaurant last Friday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the selection of gluten friendly options. Definitely not completely GF, but great for anyone who is looking for gluten friendly! I had the buffalo chicken Mac & cheese with GF rotini and grilled chicken tossed in buffalo sauce (topped with blue cheese).
My friend got a plain cheeseburger which was very good and fantastic fries.
Service was great and food arrived quickly. Large bar area and pretty busy for lunch. Happy hour

I have been coming here ever since it opened up under the name Blackwoods Grill & Bar. It has been a family favorite for many many years.
It doesn't matter what time of day you come, you will always get a quality meal! You can't find a better happy hour in the area.
Happy hour deals are awesome! Appetizers are cheaper than regular menu price and you can get any of the beers/wines for cheaper as well. Every day they have different specials that are all worth coming for.
The chicken wing appetizers and complimentary bread and oil are a must! So deliciously

This place is huge!! A hopping bar area that opens up into the outdoors. We sat inside. Most of us ordered burgers since that's what the special was. They were huge and cooked to order. Food took a while, but I know there was a large private party going on which may have been the reason. Staff was nice.
They have a super-cool sparkler candle if you happen to come here on your birthday. My 3 year old thought that was the coolest thing ever, but so did the 50-ish year old who got one near our table.
This is right off the freeway and happened to be close to our hotel so we walked there

I really like this place. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. The only reason for the missing star is the price. I think it is a couple bucks too high. The food is very good and I am willing to pay the piper but it is a shock when the check arrives. The new fish item, cod strips are outstanding! I'm glad I tried them. I have had everything from a steak to a burger here. I was surprised I had NOT rated the place. The service was reasonable and we were seated immediately. It has a very nice bar. As for the Men's room, it is strange to have a window

I don't enjoy writing bad reviews but I do believe that hard working people deserve to know where to spend their money and where not to. For myself, I believe that my money spent should be worth it, I don't like wasting or throwing my money away on cheap or useless things and for the most part I have been frustrated by the money that we have wasted here. I understand that brunches are difficult to run. There are many things that need to happen to have a well-run brunch and that can be tricky. So I am writing this review with some biased grace.
