While vacationing from out of state my truck had a catastrophic wheel bearing failure. Being Saturday afternoon and all vehicle rental agencies being closed and visiting Rhode Island I would be stuck without a vehicle at least the following Monday at best. I brought the vehicle up to Brett on a Saturday afternoon at 2:30, and he had the vehicle done 3 hours later which is phenomenal turnaround time. Having a handicap traveler with me and neading a handicap accessible vehicle I can't thank him enough for the quick turnaround time. He changed what would have been a tough day into a good one.

Joe at Sampson auto repair is amazing! I brought my 11 year old Ford Focus to him after the dealer told me it was going to cost me 2000.00 dollars to replace the AC unit. In desperation I brought it to Joe who took a look at it diagnosed it in one hour and had me out of there and on the road in one day, and get this, the cost of repair was 200.00 dollars!!!! Don’t go anywhere else. Fair, honest, and efficient! I can’t believe I found the best in the business!

I've been going to Sampson's Auto for almost a year now to tune my car. They are as professional as you could possibly get. I generally get in touch with Joe, but they assisted with everything from APR installations to exhaust work. The guys there are extremely friendly, honest, and overall great to communicate with. I will continue to use them for everything automotive.

This place is amazing. They work with my needs and schedule. They always get my truck back to me in a timely and efficient fashion. I called them one morning asking if I could get new breaks and they got me in that day, and finished! They even fixed a ton of other issues for me in that time. Highly recommend if you need your truck for your job and want it back quickly.

We've brought numerous vehicles here for general maintenance and a few much more complicated projects. Communication is always top notch and recommendations made are explained in order to prioritize issues that need immediate attention vs something that should be addressed in the future. Honest independent repair shops are increasingly hard to find, with the predatory nature of stealerships Sampsons is an asset to the community.

I'm disappointed that I chose Sampson's Automotive for my car repair. My car stayed at the shop for over a week, and still left only partially repaired. Sampson's Auto may have a lot of heart, but they unfortunately give the feeling that their business is more like a hobby. Not what I personally want when spending nearly $1500 for professional repair.
I called ahead with a list of needed repairs, all verified by Brett's initial assessment. Then he called me back 3 days later, saying that he needed to order an additional part from the dealership. Isn't that something

I don't post reviews on Yelp, typically - but signed in just to give a GREAT review for the service that I received at Sampson's Automotive this week. I'm really surprised at the two negative reviews, as that was not my experience at all.
Brett quoted me a price for the list of items that I needed done on my car - and told me that a couple of items that I requested were not necessary. ...and the final charge was less than what was quoted.

Use inferior parts charge top $$$$. Sparkplug wires are short, complained to me about extra time to make fit. Told me owner where to get them he said he knew better. Left 2 2oz. tubes of silicon sealer NO SIGN they were used anywhere. Always need to do more. HIGH PRICES INFERIOR WORK. Tried to give small guy work should've had it towed someplace else. He just wants your money.

This is a follow-up to my first review of this horrible place. I found another mechanic, who is honest and has integrity. He replaced the brake pads for me and told me that the pads didn't really need to be replaced yet, they were not worn down to the wear indicators as BRETT SAMPSON stated. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE... ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS TAKE YOUR MONEY FOR REPAIRS THAT ARE NOT NECESSARY.
