After a traumatic dental experience in February 2021, I was gun shy about visiting any dentist but knew I had to remedy a botched procedure. Yelp reviews led me to Dr. Nguyen based on the reports of compassion and pain management. On the day of my first visit, the office was short staffed due to COVID. I have found my family dentist! I hate to admit that it has been years since I have been to the dentist. His staff is friendly and did a great job with my son. I really wished I would have found Dr. Jonathan years ago. I am going to make sure Dr. Jonathan is an available dentist during open enrollment. Ok so real talk! The staff is super friendly and the Dentist let me tell you first off we had a real conversation and not just about teeth. He came up with no gain no pain instead of no pain no gain and it made our morning laugh!! I've been going to Dr. Nguyen since I was a kid. He is very nice and helpful. Any concerns you have or questions, Dr.Nguyen can answer! I've had my braces on for almost two years now and my teeth have never looked better. He is very understanding and takes care of his patient as if they are family and not just a patient. Professionalism and care at it's best! I first came to Dr. Nguyen with a bad toothache. Dr. Nguyen took the time to explain my options to me and performed the necessary work to relieve my pain all in the same appointment. His staff is so kind and caring as well. As someone dependent on Denti-cal, I had pretty much lost faith in finding a good dentist. Dr. Nguyen & his staff are amazingly caring & professional. I've had three procedures at this point. Dr. Nguyen is such a wizard, I've stopped associating dental visits with pain (sometimes pain for days after, along with other unpleasant symptoms from terrible dentists who shot me too full of novocaine). If you're an SDSU student like me and you're looking for a dentist, look no further. I had a massive cavity that was giving me headaches when I first called Premier Dental looking for a dentist. I was able to make an appointment that same day to get a root canal to fix it. I was afraid at first, but Dr. Nguyen and his staff are highly skilled and extremely helpful so the process was quick and painless. They are also friendly and empathetic as well. Six months ago I saw Dr. Nguyen to get a painful upper right wisdom tooth removed. The procedure was fast and painless. Dr. Nguyen and his assistant did everything they could to ensure my comfort, such as providing eye protection for the overhead light, keeping my mouth properly drained, and just asking if I was okay.
Today I came in again for some fillings and a routine cleaning. Again everything went smoothly. He showed me before and after images of the filling and explained how taking care of the cavity early will prevent a more painful root canal procedure later.

Let me first say that although Dr. Nguyen was out of my insurance network and I am in no position to take on dental bills, I took my daughter and myself to him anyways purely based on Google and Yelp reviews. Premier dental is a wonderful place to go to for your dental needs. It's super clean and welcoming. The staff here are super helpful and nice. Although I usually only come here every six months for a regular cleaning I wouldn't choose a different place. One thing I also want to add is that I'm a big scaredy cat when it comes to needles but Dr.Jonathan made me feel reassured and I didn't feel any pain.

Let me start by saying I am not new to ANY dentistry(first visit being at age 7,I'm 32 now). But no dentistry has shown me the professionalism and compassion that Dr.Nguyen's team has shown. Every one in the office seems to carry this professionalism. I knew I was in the right place when the dentist thanked me for coming in on time for my appointment. Dr. Nguyen is AWESOME! He is great with kids. We came here for an emergency appointment for my daughter. He went above and beyond to make sure she is relax. He talked to her and help distracted her so that she isn't scared. I love the fact that Dr. Nguyen is so easy to talk to and he takes he time with his patients. I've been a patient of Dr.Nguyen for about a year or more. No complaints besides the limited parking. Dr.Nguyen is a great knowledgeable dentist that listens to his patients. He does not diagnose treatments that are not necessary.
Last year, I got the best perfect fitted crown!!! Believe me, I know a perfect fit. I could feel still feel the smooth grooves in them.

I am so relieved to have found Premier Dental and very happy with my experience this morning. I started experiencing a toothache after getting a filling elsewhere, was in a lot of pain and did not want to go back to my previous dentist. Dr. Nguyen went over my x-rays with me (which I found comforting as my previous dentist never did that) and also very kindly went over my options with zero pressure. even got a few fillings knocked out in the same day. The following week we finished the other fillings. Everything done in less than a week. Even sent my mom in for crowns/route canal. I was introduced to Dr. Nguyen years ago by my parents and was immediately impressed by how friendly and genuine he is. Dr. Nguyen is very patient, gentle and about as in unintimidating as you can get for a dentist. He has an amazing ability for recall, like asking how a tournament went a year after our last visit. Let's face it, dental work is a necessary evil. If there was one thing both my husband's could agree on is that Dr. Nguyen is a great dentist!
