We are a locally-owned and family-friendly restaurant located on the beautiful Humboldt Bay in Eureka, Ca. Along with delicious food and drinks, we also dish up some great atmosphere: the next time you're in, make sure to view our eclectic decor, stretch your legs on our backyard patio, and enjoy our fanatic sunsets.
Our beautiful bar was hand-built by owner Chris Barry. It's made out of locally salvaged old growth redwood and includes illuminated stained glass. It's home to 10 draught beers, an inspirational selection of tequilas, 20 wines by the glass, and other refreshing spirits. We have the friendliest bartenders in town, a dining bar you can order just drinks or a full meal at, and televisions for major sporting events.
Lemonberry Kush - A classic lemondrop made with fresh lemon juice and house infused Berry Absolut Vodka. 12. Shamus Mule - Ginger infused vodka with squeeze of fresh lime and ginger beer. Pineapple Haze Martini - Vanilla vodka shaken with pineapple juice, served up with a splash of grenadine. Humboldt Sunset - Spiced rum, fresh lime juice, and ginger beer with a Meyers Dark rum float.
Just off highway 101. Private parking lot. Eureka, CA Tesla Supercharger electric car charging station nearby our restaurant. One block south of Bayshore Mall; tucked right behind the Best Western Plus Hotel 'Bayshore Inn' on the bay. In the afternoon enjoy waterfront strolling or biking on the Hikshari' Trail and then join us for Happy Hour at the bar!

A great place for ribs! I am very party about them but these were very fresh and tender. Great service and very friendly. My friend had the strawberry/spinach salad with house made dressing. Very fresh also & very enjoyable. We would come back when we come back to the Redwoods. We haven't had both great food

I used to love this place but it has gone downhill.
Ordered a Cowboy burger medium rare with Mac and cheese as a side. Burger was a boring patty cooked well done, and instead of "smoky" the bacon was just burnt. Mac and cheese was a tiny serving with a 1/2 teaspoon of plain salt dumped on top.
My server was excellent but many other servers and all kitchen staff were not masked. Not risking getting COVID for a mediocre $16 burger when I can go Star's for half the price and a much better meal.

The wait staff was excellent last night. The greeter or entrance host wore no mask. The waitress Michelle wore a mask as did all other wait staff. The longer we sat there we noticed two other hosts wore no masks. We will not return because of the relaxed adherence to mask mandate plus mediocre food for everyone at our table. The dessert was great.

2 stars. Food was dry. Flavorless. Hard to eat. Needs a little quality control. Would definitely pass on this place next time.

3 stars sides. Baked potato was barely baked. Not very good. Underneath the pile of cheese was the mac & cheese which was decent. Rice was good. Corn was grilled but no flavor.

The market price for beef is pretty out of control. I understand markup but it's too much. They've added dry aged beef, but again the prices are even higher. Service was slow, corn bread rolls were cold, we didn't get all the appetizers we ordered, drinks are pricey. The restaurant has a steakhouse theme of course with cool animals, antler chandeliers, and sometimes they turn on the Tesla coil and Jacobs ladder. Also a cool water fountain that shoots over the walkway by the bar but haven't seen that in a long time. Overall not worth the price at this point. Glad they made it through these wild

Superb food & drinks. Steak was sublime. Don't be shy if you don't get waited on right away - just be nice & speak up a little. We we're at bar. Oysters we're just as good as any I've ever had ( Acme House in New Orleans) except you could taste the California in them. Ribeye cooked perfectly. I forgive the tepid baked potato. Get the garlic fries. Be happy to come back asap.

Went in an hour before close and the place was pretty emptily. A few tables if that were seated. Just two of us and we were given probably the worst table imaginable. No view of anything, cornered in by a wall. Next the cornbread was hard as a brick. Food came out in a timely manner but the pork sliders had almost no pulled pork and were cold and my medium rare 16oz ribeye was cooked well. The 2 girls waiting on us were

Eat here often .... That being said it was horrible tonight 11/14/21 they brought out the coldest nasty mushy brisket nachos.... Asked for some salsa they brought out old pico ... and cold wilted grilled asparagus n frozen dipping sauce .... For dinner I got beef brisket ((( pretty much jerky ))) and the driest bbq chicken a baked potatoe (( more like a hockey puck )) and vegetables in cold oil all mushy a cold mushy grilled corn on the cob ...... not sure what was going on cause usually a great dinner 260 $$$ for horrible dinner for my daughter n brother and myself.... First time coming here... It was okay.. I don't recommend getting a steak if you eat it with A1 sauce. They don't give you A1 sauce only this BBQ sauce of their own I believe. Tastes like regular bbq sauce... I didn't enjoy it in my opinion. The steak I got was all fat... I got the ribeye 12 oz steak. Overall I didn't enjoy my meal..
My fiancé on the other hand enjoyed his meal! He got the combination plate ribs, brisket, and chicken skewer. He thought his plate was good.

We’ve been here a lot of times. Staff is always great. Chicken wings are really good, not too spicy. Artichoke appetizer could be a hit or a miss. Full bar and good beer selection. They have a Tesla coil that is really loud but they give you heads up before they turn it on, it only lasts a little while. The grilled meats have a strong charcoal/smoke flavor which can be overpowering. The filet mignon is my go to choice because it’s very lean. Their baked potato can be a little bit bland. I’ve never tried their pasta but their pizza is surprisingly good. Clean bathrooms. Tight parking lot.

Phenomenal!!! The food was amazing, the staff was great. We loved the atmosphere. We got broiled oysters with garlic and parm that were fabulous. Aged ribeye steak and porterhouse were delicious, even the sides were great. We loved it all. They have a tesla that they set off at the end of the night too which was cool to watch. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be back!

Visiting from out of town first time here. I really wanted to like this place, cool ambience, view of the water, smelled awesome. I was with a party of 8, I ordered the biggest and most expensive steak on the menu, a $51 porterhouse, cooked medium but more toward the medium rare side. I was excited and was really looking forward to it. Steak came out and was medium well to well done in spots. I never send stuff back but this was a $51 steak at a steakhouse it has to be right. THE BEST prime rib I’ve had in too many years! Can’t wait to try the ribeye next… Absolutely delicious! Everything was excellent! Service was top notch! This will be our go to restaurant from now on while down on the coast! Be sure and make reservations because the WORD is out! Real live Tesla Coil was AWESOME too! EAT HERE! Blessings!

I wanted to be seated next to the window and they ended up giving me a little table on the corner w a window that my bf the one who was paying for the bill COULD NOT ENJOY cause they put his chair backwards to the window.
Awful to me.

Tonight we ordered to-go and idk where to begin.....hopefully my pictures can say it for me because I/we was truly disappointed in our dinner tonight! Everything was burnt, two of our pasta was missing the proteins and was so plain we were not able to even eat it. Truly truly disappointed in our dinner tonight.

Went in to treat ourselves with steaks, which is a rare treat. They were all out of the dry aged steaks so we ordered regular rib eyes. Was very disappointed in the quality of the steaks. They were very fatty (1/3-1/2 fat) and not very flavorful. I have gotten better steaks from Safeway. The chowder wasn't very exciting either. The corn was n the cob was dried out. The service was quick and on point though. The stars are for that.

Great steakhouse. We had a small party of 6. We made reservations, they greeted us outside and sat us early. Service was quick and efficient. Waitress was fun and made our visit enjoyable. Food was delicious and served hot. Mac and cheese was good, vegetables served with steak had good flavor and a little crisp in them still. Ribeye steak with mushrooms was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Garlic fries were good. Long islands were perfect. For a show ask them to turn on the Tesla coil. It's a cool quick show.

Second time here in 2 weeks. Service was bad. I hate to even post this as I've always loved Shamus since it was even in Carlotta. First trip last week our server NEVER came so we went to the bartender for our order. Tonight's trip was even worse. The server brought us our 'bill' to pay before even ringing in our steak orders and said oopsie. We also had about 5 different people checking in on us- so somewhat of a discord between the front of the house/bar/kitchen. Whelp, 1.5 hours later- our steak order came- we had the filet Mignon and New York. My New York steak was good

AMAZING!!! I told my husband that I felt like royalty in Shamus T Bones! The staff were outstanding and really went above and beyond! & the food was spectacular!! I got the baked ziti & my husband got BBQ chicken they were both excellent! And we also received the most delicious corn bread muffins that literally melt in your mouth! Obviously a hidden gem & oh so worth it!
