We are a full service animal hospital offering modern evidence based medicine to keep your pet healthy. To keep our team informed on the latest medical changes and enhancements, we are closed the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 12pm to 2pm. At Great Northwest Animal Hospital, we make it our goal to ensure your pet receives the quality care and attention you'd come to expect for any member of your family.
Our highly skilled and trained doctors will work as a team to ensure your pet is treated with the best medicine possible. Since 1981, a foundation of Great Northwest Animal Hospital has been to prevent disease before it has a chance to develop. That's why every pet in our preventative health program receives a complete nose to tail physical exam.

Services
In 1980, Dr. John Johnson broke ground on Great Northwest Animal Hospital. At this time, Culebra was little more than a farm road and the land surrounding the build site was mostly pasture. The tenant spaces in the Great Northwest Animal Hospital building were demolished to build a brand new hospital capable of holding more doctors and exam rooms.
The physical examination is one of the most important procedures we do at Great Northwest Animal Hospital. It sets the foundation for the remainder of the visit. Whether you're pet is visiting for a wellness visit or they are just feeling under the weather today, the doctor's findings during the examination will help determine what the next step needs to be.
Dr. Michele Wright, daughter of associate veterinarian Dr. Loretta Ehrlund, is a second generation veterinarian. Having watched her parents carry out their life's dream, she could see no other future for herself than to further the foundation they had laid out. Dr. Michele is a graduate of Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine.
To enable you to provide care for sick or injured pets, we accept Care Credit and Scratchpay. Care Credit is a credit card accepted by some veterinarians and some human medical/dental facilities. I found Dr. Michele Wright through my sister-in-law who is a veterinarian in New Mexico. They had attended some of the same conferences, and I was in quite a bind. My very ill Dad was in the hospital, and we'd had his poor dog fall sick in the same week. I'd taken him to an emergency vet in town who gave him some medicine but told us he was otherwise fine. It seemed really dubious based on the tests they performed paired with his lingering symptoms but we hoped it was the case. Unfortunately he was not fine, and Dr. Wright figured out a way to get me an appointment to come in right away. I was

For many years now, we have had our pets cared for by this practice. In all these years, we have always found Dr. Travis and staff to be compassionate and caring in their delivery of care to each of our pets. When we have encountered a problem with a pet, the staff and Doctors have always been reliable and responsive to our multiple pets needs. There are so many descriptors that can define the superb care this practice exemplifies. Honesty, reliability, compassion, professional and a caring atmosphere all can be used to describe this practice. You can trust the care your pet receives. I strongly

I had the best experience I’ve ever had with a vet clinic. Everyone was kind from staff girls to doctora. The place is neat and they are very organized when it comes to administrative stuff.
If you ever need to get an international health certificate for your fur baby THIS IS THE PLACE! They know the process very well and they expedited everything for me.
Definitely would use them again if I weren’t moving to another country.

My cat who is only 7 months old began to act very lethargic overnight. I wasn’t sure what was wrong with her. So I waited a couple of days thinking maybe she would get better on her own. But as day 3 came around without improvement, I knew it was time to take her to be seen by a doctor. I called everywhere and nobody had anything available for weeks. Then I called Great Northern Animal Hospital and they were able to get us in the very next morning.
Upon my arrival to the clinic, we were quickly greeted and receptionists got us checked in quickly. They ran vitals and my fur baby had a very high

Working at a previous vet host, i have to say i was very happy and at ease i trusted great north west with my baby. From the receptionist, to the technicians and the Doctor every one was very professional and were very cautious about making our baby comfortable. Prices were reasonable and the Vet took her time to answer our questions even when some were repetitive. She made us feel comfortable and didn’t try to force anything not needed for the care of our baby. Their app makes it so east to see results and dr Notes… and i have to sat working in a vets office where clients use to wait for a

My pet has an unknown diagnosis and I found the veterinarians extremely knowledgeable, informative and helpful in trying to make the best decision on how to move forward. They did not try & push expensive procedures unless absolutely necessary. We tried the lesser intrusive & expensive treatments first. I trust & appreciate the care given at GNAH.
P.S. I'm a vet tech visiting from Kentucky!

Found this hospital on google maps and so happy of all Vet offices that I chose to come here! We were welcomed and greeted kindly, the Dr’s and staff spend some much time answering all our questions/concerns and make sure to give us all the information we need. The best hospital we’ve brought our pets to, hands down!
