The story of Northwest Animal Hospital dates back to 1972, when Texas A&M graduate, Dr. Jimmy Lloyd, opened the practice. Since that time, we are proud that our hospital has grown into a four-doctor practice that continues to embody the tradition of high-quality, personalized care that encompasses virtually any type of companion animal.
Dr. Calhoon grew up in the "big city" of Grand Island, Nebraska. After graduating high school she attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Big Red!) and graduated with a bachelor degree in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences and Biochemistry minor in 2012. She graduated from Iowa State University as part of the UNL/ISU Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine in May of 2017.

Your pet's pearly whites need proper care just like yours, and at Northwest Animal Hospital, we provide comprehensive dental cleanings under general anesthesia for almost any toothy pet. We recommend annual visits for most pets to help prevent gum disease, which can lead to the spread of harmful bacteria throughout your pet's body and vital organs.

Made an appt at two pm because they said it was the only one available the same week I called. I asked if I they had an appointment at 230 or 3 pm and they said no. So I show up sharp at two pm the vet tech takes weight of my pet and says the vet will be in soon. An hour later I am still there while several people have had their pets seen. Their was no respect of my time and honestly this has been a first. Never coming back!No apologies, no accountability.

They never disappoint!!!!! Never had a steady vet before because my visits were usually dry and judgemental because they think the strays i bring in on bad condition sometimes are my negligence. At this clinic people are so gentle and I LOVE how they call my pets BABIES OR MY CHILDREN. THEY GET IT!! I LOVE MY PETS AND I love NW Animal Hospital!! I recommend 100% Lucky, Robin, and Snowy are grateful for y'all today. Thanks for keeping my pets healthy and informing me of everything.

My wife and I are so impressed with this animal hospital! We have been to two other doctors within the past 6 months due to our dog’s allergies and they attempted to give her different medications, lotions, ear drops, etc and it did nothing. She was constantly scratching herself at night to the point where her skin was bleeding, her ears were crusty, her paws were super red and inflamed, and we noticed a decrease in her energy level.
We were referred by our dog trainer to see a doctor at Northwest Animal hospital. Within three days after seeing Dr. Calhoon, we’re already seeing positive results

Let me start out saying ! I’ve found my forever vet !!!! Dr. Molly and staff are the best ever . Just talking to them on the phone you can tell the love for animals . My Darla was diagnosed with collapsed… Trachea . From another vet . I went here for second opinion... The care that they have given her means so much to me . Even during this pandemic with all the craziness . They are incredible ! They have made me and My Darla feel so welcomed . Explaining everything . Her meds and Lazer treatments seemed to be helping her tremendously! I trust them 200% with the care of both my babies

After searching for a vet to take my parakeets I was recommended to check out Northwest Animal Clinic. Dr. Miller was very professional and gave me important information on the proper care of my birds and was… willing to answer my questions. All of the staff at this clinic seemed friendly and helpful and my vet visit was very reasonably priced! Will recommend to anyone with Avian friends, fur babies or whatever pet you may have!

I have been bringing my kids here for years now. But, recently it has changed hands. Prices have gone up, and not really sure about the new Doctors in there. Too many, I don't knows, I am not sure, it could be this or that..I think, if I am gonna spend that kind off money, I would get some actual answers and not so much off, it could be this or it… could be that. I can get those results for free from Google.. just not sure about this place anymore. the staff is very nice, friendly and handle my kids with love. But, I am just not sure. We shall see, time will tell.
