If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. Related management at this particular building is absolutely horrific. They are rude, unresponsive, unhelpful, incompetent, and do not care. They never inform residents of issues with the building in a timely manner.
For example - the hot water was out in the building for over 8 hours and the building manager did not bother to send out an email until 8pm at night when the problem had been persisting since 11 am.
I emailed the management office a number of times because I couldn't autopay my rent. I've been having to use my debit card

Do not live here. I've been in my new building for 2 months and I can't believe how helpful a management team CAN be when they put in the smallest amount of effort - it makes me realize how terrible LSP was.

The management office is awful - rude and incompetent in every aspect of their jobs. Here's a small list of what I can think of to give you a taste of what living here is like:
- I was threatened with eviction for having a dog (even though I had received permission to have a dog). I immediately tried to contact the office, but it took them 6 full hours to reply to me and give

Do not live here.

This review will sound exaggerated since it is primarily bad, but it is the truth.

The units aren't in good shape (cracked ceilings, mold on bathroom ceilings that was just painted over instead of treated).

The elevators are often out of service or they allow multiple to be booked so they aren't serving the whole building so that it requires very long wait times or nice, long walks up and down thirty flights of stairs (which smell of smoke, urine, and other unfavorable scents). This is true even when not in a pandemic.

The walls are incredibly thin vs. the average

I saw a negative review about Simona which is saddening. She is no longer there which is unfortunate, because she is awesome. Also, the doormen, Derek and LeRoy are the great. These three individuals have made such a positive experience in my residency. Always professional, responsive and courteous.

Do not live here. The city of Chicago should condemn this place. Simona holds grudges and this place is more than meets the eye. Constantly flooded laundry rooms. Clear mold growing rampantly in the laundry floor. The only the maintenance team does to fix it? Place a fan in the middle of the room.. Don't live here

My wife and I have lived here at Lake Shore Plaza for a number of years. And, just as with any multi unit apartment building, certain issues come with community living! How we grade the management's response to the issues reported to them is A+. Over the years, we have witnessed many upgrades to the facility, and we feel very confident in their ability to rectify any issues that are brought to their attention.

We see pictures posted here of what appears to be pest control issues. Well, there's two things we can say for certain. One, we have not experienced any of those type of issues

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I'd give 0 stars or less if possible. I lived here for years, only because they didn't raise the rent because they had so many issues. ELEVATORS did not work for days at a time in a 40 floor building. Simple things like the treadmill and hot tub would take months to get fixed, if they ever got fixed, after dozens of requests. The building is falling apart and I've waited 10+ days for work orders to be filled, and management often doesn't respond to your emails at ALL. The building smells of cigarette smoke often, they have had to send out emails asking people

This apartment was bad to begin with, but ever since Related management took over it has been unbearable. Just because the lower floors or Section 8 housing doesn't mean the whole building has to suffer. No respect at all.

Doorman cannot open the door for you, as does any other building that knows their residents. Packages not sent to your exact address will be turned away and sent back. Only one key fob per leaseholder- if you have company, kids, or a pet walker, you're screwed! Anyone in management has a terrible attitude unless they're with a prospective renter. Simona is one

I find it so interesting and hilarious that there's a response to this review and not any of the others.
The truth rings loudly I guess!?
No amount of online damage control will negate the facts: this is substandard housing and it is not clean or sanitary or habitable.
As long as the living conditions (and tenants) remain deplorable this building and it's roaches will remain as such.
Management: you are allocating government funding to pay for substandard housing. This has to be a violation of housing laws.

I stand firm that there is a cockroach explosion in THIS building in downtown

I am a real estate broker and have worked with many leasing offices at various properties. Simona and Lake Shore Plaza are by FAR the best company I have ever worked with. They are responsive to all inquiries in a super timely manner and are organized and always reachable.

If I was ever to rent again, I would come back to this property 1st because of my awesome experience.
