Services
Unlike most other medical professions, in psychotherapy the patient's physical environment has a significant impact on the healing process. We understand the importance of providing patients with a warm, friendly and familiar atmosphere. We are centrally located in downtownAthensin the Michael Brothers Building with plenty of street parking.
We specialize in treating a range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, OCD, post traumatic stress disorder, grief/bereavement and mood disorders. Whether you need a child therapist, family therapist, or individual therapist, our number one priority is to bring happiness and well-being to our patients' lives by restoring their mental balance.
As the name suggests, individual therapy is all about the patient as an individual. People seek professional help for difficult life transitions and various mental illnesses. We can help with adjustment, depression, anxiety, relationships, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma, eating disorders, and OCD. Therapy sessions typically last about 50 minutes and the frequency of appointments will depend on your specific treatment plan.
Relationships should provide both partners with a sense of happiness and fulfillment, but can often end up in fighting and hurt feelings. Georgia Individual & Family can help couples work through their problems. We also help couples to create their own pathway to continue growth before problems occur.
Group therapy can augment individual treatment plans, and sometimes it even replaces the one-on-one sessions completely. Group therapy provides a safe setting for real-life interaction with others. In this environment, group members can discuss their problems honestly and give each other feedback and positive reinforcement.
